    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are</span></p>\n<p>The Mikisew Cree First Nation (Mikisew) has lived on the ancestral lands of the Athabasca Delta and Wood Buffalo National Park in northeastern Alberta since time immemorial. The lives of our members are linked to the land and to a close understanding of traditions, history and a natural way of life. Many of our members live in the hamlet of Fort Chipewyan, and our traditional lands range over a large portion of Athabasca oil sands deposits.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who You Are</span></p>\n<p>Mikisew Cree First Nation is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Kahkiyow Keykanow Elders Care Home (KKECH) team on a CASUAL basis.  The successful candidate will work collaboratively with health team members to provide comprehensive care and support to Elders, residents, and their families. This role supports residents in achieving optimal health, maximizing independence, and maintaining a secure, comfortable, home‑like environment. The LPN also facilitates effective communication between residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Medication Assistance with dispensing of prescribed medications and documentation of all medications reordering as needed.</li>\n<li>Meal Planning/ Collaboration with Dietician and Cook to their specific needs and to ensure all residents receive healthy food choices as per the Canada Food Guide.</li>\n<li>Reporting observe and reporting any behavioural changes or conditions with the residents or any incidents involving residents within the Care Plan to the Professional staff.</li>\n<li>Assess and provide treatments and make referrals.</li>\n<li>Prevent/treat injury/illness.</li>\n<li>Complete initial and ongoing assessments of residents and patients.</li>\n<li>Assisting clients with bathing.</li>\n<li>Follow standards of cleanliness and safety.</li>\n<li>Documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.</li>\n<li>Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the facility.</li>\n<li>Collaboration with professional staff such as Nunee Health Center and Alberta Health Services.</li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 1 year of experience in an LPN or similar role.</li>\n<li>IV therapy experience would be considered an asset.<br></li>\n<li>Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Alberta.</li>\n<li>Current basic CPR.</li>\n<li>Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties.<br></li>\n<li>Other duties, as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Other Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess a valid Class 5 AB driver’s license and own or access to a vehicle.</li>\n<li>Clear Drivers Abstract.</li>\n<li>Willingness and ability to work after hours and/or weekends when required.</li>\n<li>Successful completion of First Aid.</li>\n<li>Willing to work flexible schedule.</li>\n<li>Must provide and possess a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.<br></li>\n<li>This position is based in Fort Chipewyan Alberta.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MCFN Standard Closing Statement</span></p>\n<p>All applications will be reviewed, although only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
