    "jobDescription": "<h2></h2><h2>Job Description:</h2><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p><b>The Team</b></p><p>Fidelity Wealth’s Trade Management Engineering group is responsible for building world-class electronic trading solutions for Fidelity’s Capital Markets division. We are a high-performing, fast-paced technology team working with cutting-edge tools to deliver low-latency, high-throughput trading platforms. Our work spans across internal and external teams to build seamless, end-to-end electronic trading workflows.</p><p><b>The Role</b></p><p>We are seeking a highly experienced software engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation trading systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building scalable, resilient, and high-performance trading infrastructure. You’ll collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and drive innovation in a mission-critical environment.</p><ul><li>Architect and develop distributed, event-driven electronic trading systems optimized for low latency and high throughput.</li><li>Design and implement complex algorithmic trading systems for equities and options.</li><li>Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver robust and resilient systems.</li><li>Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts across the platform.</li><li>Lead and mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.</li><li>Support production and non-production environments, including off hours or weekend support as needed.</li></ul><p><b>The Expertise You Have:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.</li><li>15&#43; years of hands-on software design and development experience in the electronic trading domain.</li><li>5&#43; years of technical leadership, managing a team, and mentoring software developers</li><li>Experience in building <b>algorithmic trading</b> systems for <b>equities and options</b></li><li>Experience with<b> equities and options market data</b></li><li><b>Series 57</b> license preferred</li><li>Expertise in <b>C/C&#43;&#43;</b>, <b>Python</b>, and <b>Linux</b>.</li><li>Deep experience with <b>low latency messaging systems</b> (e.g., 29West/Ultra-Messaging, Kafka).</li><li>Proficiency in <b>KDB&#43;</b> or other time-series databases.</li><li>Strong background in building <b>scalable</b>, <b>distributed</b>, <b>asynchronous</b>, and <b>event-driven</b> applications.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of <b>low latency design patterns</b> and <b>performance optimization</b> techniques.</li><li>Experience in <b>Capital Markets</b> or <b>Brokerage systems</b>, especially <b>order management</b>.</li><li>Solid understanding of the <b>FIX protocol</b> and FIX engines.</li><li>Experienced with using <b>GenAI developer assist tools</b> (e.g. GitHub Copilot).</li><li>Experience with <b>CI/CD tools</b> such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, and uDeploy.</li><li>Experience with deploying applications and services in <b>AWS</b></li></ul><p><b>The Skills You Bring:</b></p><ul><li>Ability to understand complex, end-to-end systems and identify performance, scalability, or resilience bottlenecks.</li><li>Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a collaborative team environment.</li><li>Self-driven innovation and comfort working with leadership.</li><li>Willingness to support production systems and participate in on-call rotations, including occasional weekend support.</li></ul><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p>The base salary range for this position is $126,000-255,000 USD per year.  <p style=\"text-align:left\">Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.</p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\">Base salary is only part of the total compensation package.
