The ATSU College for Healthy Communities is the newest College within ATSU located in the beautiful <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.santamaria.com/\"><u>Central Coast region</u></a> of California. The Central Coast Physician Assistant (CCPA) Program is the founding academic program within the College with the mission of educating culturally-humble, diverse physician assistants (PAs) to serve the primary care needs of medically underserved communities. The Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Physician Assistant Studies will report directly to the CCPA Program Chair and indirectly to the Director of Didactic Education and will support the continued development and implementation of all aspects of the preclinical phase of the PA Program and to teach courses, engage in service, and conduct scholarship.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate as a member of the programmatic faculty to achieve a shared vision for becoming recognized as the principal source of PAs from historically underrepresented groups providing culturally-humble care to medically underserved communities.</li><li>Contribute to the ongoing design, development, and implementation of an innovative case-based curricular model emphasizing blended learning.</li><li>Serve as a member of the dynamic team of didactic faculty to educate a highly diverse student body selected for their commitment to the CCPA mission using a holistic admissions process.</li><li>Contribute to the comprehensive assessment strategy for the didactic phase of the program.</li><li>Help to ensure students are adequately prepared to achieve programmatic benchmarks for the PACKRAT and PANCE.</li><li>Support student academic progression, retention, and completion strategies.</li><li>Ensure ongoing compliance with ARC-PA accreditation standards and best practices in contemporary physician assistant didactic education.</li><li>Develop and deliver academic courses as assigned.</li><li>Participate in the holistic student admissions process.</li><li>Conduct and disseminate scholarship.</li><li>Serve on departmental, college, and university committees as assigned.</li><li>Engage in community and professional service.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications and Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Masters in PA studies or NP degree required. Doctorate in related field preferred.</li><li>Three years relevant experience or better.</li><li>Clinical experience as a PA or NP commensurate with teaching responsibilities preferred.</li><li>Prior academic experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of assistant/associate professor is preferred.</li><li>Prior experience in the delivery of didactic courses within an ARC-PA accredited program is preferred.</li><li>Prior experience in the design, development, and implementation of didactic education programs is preferred.</li><li>Applicants who can articulate how they can collaboratively contribute to the program mission and vision will be given strong preference.</li><li>Capability of working independently.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Cooperative and able to work in team situations.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.</li></ul><p>Interested persons should complete the ATSU employment application online, which includes a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information for three professional references.</p><p>The salary range for this position at the assistant level is 114,400 - 143,000, at the associate level is 131,560 - 164,450, and at the professor level is 157,872 - 197,340.</p><ul><li>Sign-on bonus may be available</li><li>Relocation assistance provided up to $12,000.00</li><li>Opportunity to practice clinically one day a week to supplement your income</li></ul><p>Compensation is determined based on the requirements of the job description with consideration given to the candidate's education, experience, and qualifications, internal equity, budgetary consideration, and external competitiveness.</p><p><br></p><p>ATSU offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverages, among more.
