The Center for Gambling Research and Development and the Department of Economics in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, WV, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position starting in August 2026. The position will involve research under the supervision of Dr. Brad Humphreys, in the topics of economics, gambling, and sports betting. In terms of research duties, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to lead independent research projects and collaborate with faculty and doctoral students in the Chambers College with the goal of publications in reputed journals in economics or related fields like finance, gambling and public policy. The position includes teaching one course or two courses per academic year in the Department of Economics. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also be expected to attend graduate student seminars and work with graduate students involved with related research. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with scholars in the Department of Economics under the discretion and direction of Dr. Brad Humphreys.
