The position is a backfill for a retiring administrator, offering extensive cross-training and long-term stability.</p><hr><h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li><p>Manage and administer <strong>IBM i / IBM Power Systems</strong> across production, development, and DR environments.</p></li><li><p>Oversee day-to-day system operations, including workload management, job scheduling, system health monitoring, and security administration.</p></li><li><p>Handle <strong>BRMS backup operations</strong>, disaster recovery replication, and periodic recovery testing.</p></li><li><p>Perform system optimization, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning.</p></li><li><p>Support and maintain third-party applications integrated with the IBM i ecosystem (e.g., Avalara, Seagull, Aldon, Halcyon, and other platform tools).</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with internal teams to ensure system stability, data integrity, and operational resilience.</p></li><li><p>Participate in documentation, knowledge transfer, and cross-training as part of the planned transition.</p></li><li><p>Assist with broader IT operations where needed, particularly in Windows Server, virtualization, or general infrastructure tasks (nice to have).</p></li></ul><hr><h2><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li><p><strong>3+ years hands-on experience</strong> working with IBM i / iSeries / IBM Power Systems.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of system administration, security configuration, PTF management, and job scheduling.</p></li><li><p>Experience with <strong>backup/recovery</strong>, BRMS, DR replication, and performance optimization.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with operational tools and third-party applications commonly used in IBM i environments.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently, own critical systems, and collaborate across IT teams.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills and a commitment to reliability and operational excellence.</p></li></ul>",
