Description
All About You
The Senior Buyer will assure compliance with company policies, applicable government regulations and laws and the higher of ethical standards while establishing sources for quality conforming materials and services with competitive pricing and timely deliveries. They will continually seek new and alternative ideas, products, and materials whose adoption might improve company efficiency and profitability. They will support the development of new company products by involving suppliers in the initial design.
Requirements
2-year college diploma with skills sufficient to meet required competencies at a minimum.
Minimum of five years progressively responsible purchasing related experiences in a manufacturing environment.
Immediate knowledge level of purchasing principles, computer techniques and manufacturing processes required.
Preferred Competencies:
4-year College degree.
Experience with MfgPro/QAD/MQ1.
Advanced Microsoft Excel Experience.
Responsibilities
Analyze and process inventory and non-inventory (sometimes referred to as "Non-Production") requisitions to determine the appropriate source of supply.
Perform purchase order administration to assure timely deliveries of products and services.
Conduct the appropriate level of price/cost analysis to obtain the most favorable economic purchase. Cost reductions will be critical. This position will take the lead on non-inventory activities.
Maintain database for assigned suppliers to assure data base integrity while ensuring suppliers re in compliance with Saft's FPP and CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiatives: Human Rights, Climate, etc.
