The technician works on a variety of products in all phases of production. The QA will work in the lab examining products, taking samples, and conducting experiments to ensure that customer and company specifications are met. The QA Technician will report any defects and make recommendations for improvements. The Quality Assurance department of the company aims to stop wasteful production of poor quality products and helps to ensure that customers do not receive malfunctioning products. The Quality Assurance technician monitors the operation to ensure product is manufactured and handled properly (Sanitation Operations &amp; GMP&rsquo;s).</p><p><strong>Position Duties/ Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Inspect product through sensory evaluation for defects</li><li>Inspect finish product for correctness</li><li>Check product for specified colors, textures, etc</li><li>Test raw material, ingredients, packaged finished products, packing materials</li><li>Determine overall product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests</li><li>Use test equipment to determine if product meets customer specifications</li><li>Conduct quality checks on production floor documents to ensure completeness and accuracy</li><li>Use measuring equipment, electronic equipment, scales to perform testing and analysis</li><li>Consult with QA Supervisor regarding any defects; aids in recommendations for improvement and corrections</li><li>Observe product, processes and plant environment for any possible hazards</li><li>Examine materials and ingredients from supplier to ensure compliance with specifications</li><li>Inspect final product made with materials from supplier</li><li>Perform direct observation on SOP&rsquo; and GMP&rsquo;s and record results</li><li>Accurately complete required documents and forms required for recordkeeping</li><li>Review HACCP records to ensure that HACCP requirements are met and properly documented</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Must move with sense of urgency; time management skills are essential</li><li>Ability to think, comprehend and retain large amounts of information</li><li>Keen observation and evaluation ability</li><li>Ability to make sound decisions under pressure</li><li>Ability to work under minimal supervisor; self motivated to produce results</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Education/Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Two (2) year of prior Quality Control experience is required; preferably in a food manufacturing setting</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><ul><li>Will work in environment where safety precautions are required to be followed</li><li>Protective gear such as gloves, work boots, and smocks required at all times</li><li>Will work around moving machinery</li><li>Availability to work outside of normally scheduled shift hours and work overtime when required</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Physical Demands:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Light to moderate physical effort required</li><li>Regularly required to walk, reach, bend and stand for long periods of time throughout the day</li><li>Must be able to lift up to <em>50</em> lbs</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;Will be expected to perform other related duties and assignments as requested or directed</p><p>Chairmans Foods is an EEO Employer and conducts background checks and drug testing as part of the hiring process.</p>\n    </div>\n  </div>\n",
