The work will include managing the Civil/Structural department and performing complete basic and detailed design of oil, gas and chemical facilities, and to potentially act as Project Manager for smaller chemical/process engineering proposals, studies or projects. This position is in the Brampton, Ontario office.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What a day at EXP has in store for you</strong></p><ul><li>Lead and mentor technical staff. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Oversee resource allocation, workload distribution, and team performance.</li><li>Ensure that subordinates and colleagues have correctly interpreted that which was communicated.</li><li>Comfortable with communication across offices, working with a team on large projects that are in multiple offices.</li><li>Communicate with the client, (informs, explains, cooperates, etc.).</li><li>Regularly organizes internal team meetings.</li><li>Analysis and Design.</li><li>Responsible for sealing and signing of drawings.</li><li>Handles projects of varying sizes and complexity.</li><li>Responsible for design of structural systems, working out schematic and design development options.</li><li>Detailed design software and overall code knowledge required.</li><li>Reviews status of checklists and standard letters as the project progresses.</li><li>Decides/discusses software selection.</li><li>Regularly consults with and oversees work of intermediate and junior engineers.</li><li>Prepares specification documents.&nbsp;</li><li>Has solid understanding of the project delivery types and their implications on the design process.</li><li>Understands the design time requirements corresponding to the various delivery types, and project complexities.</li><li>Manages the design process and provides deliverables within his/her control on time and within budget.</li><li>Reviews budget/profitability with Project Engineers and Project Managers.</li><li>Understands a variety of finite element software packages and the basic principles behind their usage.</li><li>Experience with one or more of the following programs (StaadPro, CADWorx, SmartPlant 3D, Revit, Dyna 6.1, ANSYS).</li><li>Brings to the attention of the management any potential work he/she is made aware of by the client.</li></ul><p><strong>What your experience looks like</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum ten (10) years of structural experience in oil, gas and chemical facilities.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from a Canadian or US accredited university required.</li><li>Professional Engineer (P.E.) license for Ontario.</li><li>Ability to get other provincial and state engineering licenses if requested.</li><li>Knowledge and experience in skid and vertical structures preferred.</li><li>Proficiency in BlueBeam, is highly preferred.</li><li>Proficiency in MS Word, Excel required.</li><li>Self-motivated, detail oriented and client focused.</li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks, met deadlines and work collaboratively on multiple projects at once<br>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><div><div><p><strong>EXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
