    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong><u>Position Summary:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Provide athletic training services in support of intercollegiate athletics programs as assigned.&nbsp; Work in collaboration with clinical faculty/athletic trainers in the athletic training education program and other staff athletic trainers to provide athletic training services to intercollegiate athletics.&nbsp; Evaluate and treat injuries and potential injuries. Develop and administer injury prevention, treatment plans and rehabilitation programs for student-athletes.&nbsp; Counsel and advise student-athletes on conditioning and athletic training matters.&nbsp; Attend home practices and games for assigned sports teams; travel to contests during the regular season and post-season for assigned teams is required.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong><u>Supervision:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Reports to Assistant Director, Sports Medicine</li>\n <li>May provide clinical instruction and day-to-day guidance to graduate students in the Athletic Training Education Program</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Job Responsibilities:</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Clinical Care and Injury Management</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide athletic training services under the supervision of the team physician, including evaluating, managing, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries as needed or prescribed.</li>\n <li>Provide prompt and accurate triage.</li>\n <li>Develop and administer injury prevention, treatment plans, and rehabilitation programs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Program Support</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Staff the Hill Center Athletic Training Clinic or A&amp;E Center Clinic.</li>\n <li>Attend home practices and games for assigned sports teams to evaluate and treat injuries or potential injuries</li>\n <li>Travel with assigned teams during regular and post-season.</li>\n <li>Serve as host athletic trainer for league, regional and national championships competition held at Ithaca College.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Student-Athlete Support</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Counsel and advise student-athletes on conditioning and athletic training matters.</li>\n <li>Serve as a consultant to coaching staff on conditioning, nutrition, and protective equipment.</li>\n <li>Assist with injury prevention through athlete education, identifying factors, correcting deficiencies and providing taping and bracing.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Collaboration and Communication</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as liaison with parents, sports medicine physicians, health center staff, athletic trainers, and coaches in determining appropriate treatment options.</li>\n <li>&nbsp;Assist the team physician in determining return-to- play decisions.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Attend introductory team meetings and present athletic training information for assigned sports.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful community; engage in practices and professional development that support diversity, equity, and inclusion.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compliance</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records on injured athletes.</li>\n <li>Obtain sports injury reports from injured athletes and forward to the insurance and referral coordinator for filing with the College athletic injury insurance plan.</li>\n <li>Perform mandatory baseline concussion testing for incoming students in assigned sports.</li>\n <li>Participate in all pre-participation sport screenings and the medical clearance process.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as a preceptor to graduate students in the clinical education portion of the Athletic Training Education Program.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Qualifications:</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in athletic training from a CAATE-accredited program</li>\n <li>Minimum of one-year athletic training experience</li>\n <li>Board of Certification (BOC) Certified in athletic training in good standing</li>\n <li>Current New York State licensure (or eligibility) as an Athletic Trainer</li>\n <li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification</li>\n <li>Strong clinical reasoning, communication and interpersonal skills</li>\n <li>Knowledge of medical terminology and athletic training equipment</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous collegiate athletic training experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Work Environment:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regular presence at athletic facilities, including clinics, practice fields, and competition venues&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to move across athletic facilities and respond quickly in active environments&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Frequent standing, walking, and positioning to evaluate and treat injuries&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to lift and transport athletic training equipment and supplies&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Evening, weekend, and travel requirements based on team schedules and operational needs</li>\n <li>Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor athletic and clinical settings, with regular exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other inclement weather</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This position is 37.5 hours per week, 10 months per year.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Application Instructions:</strong></p>\n<p>Interested applicants must apply online and attach a resume, cover letter, and list of three professional references.
