Ensures accurate collection of demographic and financial information to support reimbursement and clinical outcomes. Provides front-line support through scheduling, registration, and patient communication.</p><hr><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Manage incoming calls and direct patients/visitors appropriately</li><li>Perform patient check-in and check-out processes</li><li>Verify and update insurance information</li><li>Monitor and resolve insurance-related errors</li><li>Manage Cerner pool messages</li><li>Schedule patient appointments</li><li>Collect payments and explain charges/policies</li><li>Enter charges accurately into appropriate systems</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Training &amp; Benchmarks</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>First 3 Months:</strong><ul><li>Comfortable with patient check-in/out</li><li>Begin answering phones</li></ul></li><li><strong>6 Months:</strong><ul><li>Increased role proficiency</li><li>Improved understanding of workflows and responsibilities</li></ul></li><li><strong>12 Months:</strong><ul><li>Fully functional and independent in role</li></ul></li><li><strong>Onboarding:</strong><ul><li>6 weeks total (mentor support + web-based training)</li></ul></li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Team Environment</strong></h3><ul><li>Works primarily within <strong>Primary Care teams</strong></li><li>Collaborative, patient-focused setting</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3><p><strong>Required:</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED</li><li>Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in a healthcare setting</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practices</li><li>Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding</li><li>Ability to interpret insurance information</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Skills for Success</strong></h3><ul><li>Compassionate and patient-focused</li><li>Strong initiative and accountability</li><li>Strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills</li><li>CMAA certification is helpful</li></ul></div><p>&nbsp;</p>",
