Special Education Certificated Teacher Resource (CTRs) employees are a key part of our special education team. CTRs will support their Supervising Special Education Teachers by working 40 hours per week. They are role models for our students, and are expected to look, act, and speak, as representatives of the school at all times.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:</span></p>\n<p>This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principal job elements.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide one-on-one tutoring to support the goal progress of student IEPs</li>\n<li>Assist in personalizing assignments to meet the individual goals of students</li>\n<li>Conduct informal assessments of IEP student progress</li>\n<li>Use knowledge of individual’s strengths and interests to encourage engagement in varied school and community activities as determined by the instructional team</li>\n<li>Support teachers with resource center management, related to a safe environment and supportive school culture</li>\n<li>Provide least intrusive level of support based on the demands of the learning environment as determined by the instructional team</li>\n<li>Use strategies as determined by the instructional team in a variety of settings to assist in the development of social skills</li>\n<li>Use strategies that promote successful transitions for individuals with IEP’s as determined by the instructional team</li>\n<li>Use a variety of positive behavioral supports to enhance an individual’s active participation in activities as determined by the instructional team</li>\n<li>Communicate with SPED Teachers on student progress</li>\n<li>Keep a detailed log of minutes, topics, and interactions with students</li>\n<li>Sign and abide by all testing affidavits</li>\n<li>Assist in the scheduling of IEP meetings</li>\n<li>Communicate to students and parents about appointment reminders, testing dates/times and participation</li>\n<li>Assist teacher with assessment preparation and supervision</li>\n<li>Attend required trainings, meetings or professional development opportunities throughout the school year</li>\n<li>Assist in conducting student home visits</li>\n<li>Help support the students while the teacher is in a meeting or attending a training</li>\n<li>Partner with teachers to make connections within the community</li>\n<li>Maintain a clean, organized learning environment for students</li>\n<li>Responsible for developing, implementing, and participating in regular and ongoing marketing and community outreach activities and events to ensure students and parents are aware of the school as a free public option.</li>\n<li>Responsible for developing, implementing, and participating in regular and ongoing student retention activities and strategies to ensure no student drops out and current and previous students are aware of the school as a free public option.</li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned or changed with or without notice.</li>\n<li>Maintain consistent and regular attendance.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university</li>\n<li><span>California 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit</span></li>\n<li><span>Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction </span></li>\n<li><span>Years of experience working directly with middle and/or secondary students. </span></li>\n<li><span>Preferably have experience working with specialized student populations (English Learners, Homeless, Foster Youth, etc.) </span></li>\n<li>Possession of a valid California driver's license and reliable transportation</li>\n<li><span>TB Clearance  </span></li>\n<li><span>Obtain Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance through the DOJ and FBI </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; exposure to computer screens.<br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  </span>Hearing and speaking to exchange information with students, staff, and parents; seeing to read, proofread, perform clerical tasks and periodic work on a computer screen; intermittent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies;
