Click <a href=\"http://thecommons.dpsk12.org/site/default.aspx?pageid=2859\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">here</a><i> </i>for more information on compensation for these roles.&nbsp;</li><li>In addition to competitive compensation, DPS has other Total Reward offerings such as; <a href=\"http://thecommons.dpsk12.org/Page/1129\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">time off</a>, <a href=\"http://thecommons.dpsk12.org/Page/1397\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">health and wellness benefits</a>, and <a href=\"http://thecommons.dpsk12.org/retire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">PERA Retirement</a>.&nbsp;</li></ul></div><div><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></div><ul><li>Evaluates, maintains, repairs, troubleshoots and installs HVAC controls (e.g., fire, air quality) utilizing computer and associated software and hardware; troubleshoots and identifies system failure, and performs needed repairs, or refers other repairs to shop staff.</li><li>Adjusts and calibrates HVAC controls to overcome system deficiencies or for system operation, considering current system and how space is being used.</li><li>Reviews work orders, prioritizes, and determine supplies for repair and purchases supplies using District purchase order system.</li><li>Communicates and coordinates with staff at work site and with other shop staff.</li><li>Works with and installs HVAC systems; diagnoses repairs, modifies and performs repairs using blueprints and considering building codes (e.g., UBC) and standards; fabricates, repairs, and installs HVAC system (inside) ductwork, fittings, registers, venting, pipe fittings.</li><li>Prepares and cleans up job site (e.g., erecting scaffolding), taking into consideration safety concerns of self and others (e.g., students, employees), and disposes of waste and flammable materials.</li><li>Performs work and cross trains in at least one other trade as an apprentice.</li><li>Assists with snow removal efforts on a 24 hour on-call basis.</li><li>Responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.</li><li>Under direction of L3 (Master or Multi-Skilled), may assist or perform the following functions: Train and mentor staff; bid on work requested by schools, and prepares quote; inspect work of independent contractors, identifies deficiencies; and communicate with project manager about correcting deficiencies according to code (e.g., city, state) and district specifications.<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><div><strong>What You’ll Need:</strong></div><div><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>Valid Colorado Drivers License that <span>meets district insurability standards</span></li><li>Two to ten years experience and training; minimum as follows: L1: Two (2) years related experience, L2: Four (4) years experience, L3: Ten (10) years journeyman experience, including one (1) year internal experience, District specific training or equivalent required for all levels.</li><li>Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.&nbsp;</li><li>Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the <a href=\"https://financialservices.dpsk12.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/23/Office_Professional.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><i><strong>physical demands</strong></i></a>&nbsp;of the position.</li></ul></div><div><i>Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
