The IEC also conducts hearings in complaint cases and provides guidance to state and local government bodies, officials, employees, and members of the public on Colorado’s ethics laws. The Commission’s work is central to promoting accountability, transparency, and public trust in government.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><a href=\"https://iec.colorado.gov/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colorado Independent Ethics Commission Agency Website</a></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>IEC is seeking an experienced and motivated investigator to support its ethics investigations and outreach efforts. As an investigator, you will play a critical role in ensuring ethics complaints are reviewed thoroughly, and fairly, in accordance with constitutional requirements. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with Commission leadership, engage in impactful outreach and training, and apply your investigative expertise in a small, highly collaborative agency environment where your work is visible, valued, and directly tied to the Commission’s mission.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Travel Requirements</span><br>Occasional travel, including out-of-town and limited out-of-state travel, may be required for investigations, trainings, outreach activities, and annual conference attendance. <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mileage and allowable travel expenses, such as per diem, will be reimbursed in accordance with applicable policies.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">What You'll Do:</span></p>\n<p>As an Ethics Investigator &amp; Outreach Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting ethics complaint investigations under Article XXIX of the Colorado Constitution, pursuant to parameters set by the IEC. You will also be responsible for completing written investigative reports, participating in outreach and training initiatives, and associated administrative functions. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Key responsibilities include: </p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Determine</span><span> the plan, scope, and direction of assigned investigations and inquiries</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Conduct in-depth interviews of complainants, respondents, witnesses, and all other involved persons;
