Description

Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent over a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile and VR gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously! As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers. We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey! The Role: Join us as an experienced Unity programmer at Pixel Toys and dive into an exciting team at a critical stage of development, tasked with pushing the absolute limits of the latest mobile and tablet hardware. Take ownership of developing key systems within the game's codebase, ensuring our projects are as entertaining as they are technically robust. Your influence will extend beyond the code as you collaborate actively with discipline leads to set high technical standards and define performance budgets that keep our games running beautifully on a wide range of devices. In this role, you will thrive in a flexible and creative environment where your ideas are not just heard, but encouraged. You will be instrumental in architecting sophisticated, easy-to-use code that streamlines the development process and empowers the rest of the studio. By balancing technical excellence with a player-first mindset, you will help us transform the Unity Engine into a powerhouse for creating wonderful, world-class mobile experiences. About you: With significant experience in a similar role, you will bring a broad and deep understanding of the diverse systems required to power high-end mobile games. Acting as a pivotal member of the team, you will take a hands-on approach in shaping our systems design, selecting the third-party services we integrate, and architecting the core components that support our titles. Your background with at least one fully shipped game where you were involved through every phase of development will give you a holistic view of what it takes to move from initial concept to a polished global launch. Your professional experience of Unity and C# is matched by a solid understanding of modern coding processes, standards, and methodologies. Excelling at prototyping and rapid iteration, you possess the agility to test new features quickly without sacrificing long-term stability. Beyond your technical prowess, you are a creative problem solver and an excellent communicator who brings high levels of enthusiasm to every challenge. You are a self-motivated, proactive team player with a personal drive to deliver code of the highest standard while supporting those around you to do the same. What can Pixel Toys offer: At Pixel Toys we are proud of the progressive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment we have created; a place where everyone has the opportunity to be themselves and is welcomed and valued for who they are and what they contribute. We have some fantastic benefits we offer our employees… Here are just some of them: Competitive salary, reviewed annually 25 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays Discretionary Bonus Scheme Up to 3 additional long service days (duvet days!) Private Medical Insurance (including optical and dental) Company Pension scheme Death in Service benefit Regular socials including epic summer and Christmas parties! Staff training and development Quarterly Wellness days (On-site massages and more) Flexi-time working hours Recruitment selection is based on skills, experience and a good Pixel Toys mission and values fit.
