AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Transportation Engineer to join our growing Transportation team of design professionals in our Richmond, VA office. Position will start in May 2026 upon graduation. With AMT, you will get: • Tiered medical coverage • Dental/Vision • 401(k) with 6% Company match! • Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) • Short- and long-term disability • College savings plan • Life insurance • Paid time off • Holidays • Training/Certifications Responsibilities Support a variety of projects which may involve collection of data, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports Development of horizontal and vertical alignments, performing cross-section and super-elevation design, roadway modeling, development of transportation infrastructure plans, computing quantity takeoffs Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution Engineering-in-Training Certification (or ability to obtain in 6-12 months) required Prior internship or work experience preferred, experience with Municipal or State/US Department of Transportation projects a plus Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Bentley Microstation/InRoads or Open Roads is preferred Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction surveying concepts preferred Experience with MS Office products including Word and Excel Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members Excellent oral and written communication skills;
