    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The <strong>Challenge Course Director</strong> is responsible for overseeing, leading, planning and implementing the Challenge Course department. The Challenge Course Director supervises 6-10 Challenge Course Instructors as well as leads challenge course activities for campers in large and small group settings.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervise all Challenge Course Instructors.</li>\n <li>Provide instruction, supervision, and safety of all campers in the program area and cabins.</li>\n <li>Observer Challenge Course Instructors’ classes and provide constructive feedback.</li>\n <li>Approve all lesson plans and curriculum for challenge course activities and confirm they are age-appropriate and meet the standards. </li>\n <li>Provide instruction, supervision, and safety of all campers and staff in the program area.</li>\n <li>Submit written performance evaluations of staff twice a summer.</li>\n <li>Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available.</li>\n <li>Assist campers with achieving their SMART goals.</li>\n <li>Assist with running evening programs and special events. </li>\n <li>Assist with Trading Post.</li>\n <li>Assist with tractor rides.</li>\n <li>Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to; camper check-in and check-out; mealtimes; activities; and before/after-hours duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Attend and participate in Ad Staff and All Staff Training</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>20 years of age or older.</li>\n <li>Previous camp experience or experience working with groups of children is preferred.</li>\n <li>Ability to lead and instruct a group of staff and campers in the Challenge Course program.</li>\n <li>Knowledge in safety, care of equipment, inventory, skill instruction, and progressive age-appropriate programming.</li>\n <li>Be able to identify the age and grade level characteristics of campers. </li>\n <li>Training will be provided during Administration Staff Training and All Staff Training. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>YMCA Membership</li>\n <li>Discounted Programs</li>\n <li>12% Employer Retirement Contribution</li>\n <li>Paid Sick Time</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Posted Salary Range</h2>USD $350.00 - USD $595.00 /Wk.",
