If you’re passionate about using your skills to make a real difference, apply today and become part of a team that’s shaping the future of defense technology!</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the role:</span> PMAT has an immediate need and is seeking a highly qualified SSDS SIL Technician / Administrator to support the operation and maintenance of the Ships Self Defense System (SSDS) System Integration Laboratory (SIL) in San Diego, California. This role combines hands-on technical work with administrative oversight of the lab, making it ideal for a Navy Electronics Technician or similar professional with SSDS experience who is comfortable managing both equipment and compliance tasks.</p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining Navy combat system hardware in labs or on SSDS-equipped ships, and be adept at inventory management, lab configuration, and documentation. This role requires a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary engineering team.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Diagnose system and equipment malfunctions, expedite repairs, and ensure minimal downtime.</li>\n<li>Configure lab systems for software development and testing activities using SIM/STIM environments.</li>\n<li>Reference technical drawings and specifications to perform independent diagnostics and root cause analysis.</li>\n<li>Maintain and update lab configuration documents and string setup documentation.</li>\n<li>Perform and document preventative maintenance on combat system equipment and simulators.</li>\n<li>Manage software and firmware libraries for government and PMAT-generated artifacts.</li>\n<li>Maintain classified hardware, software, and document logs; support periodic audits and take corrective actions as needed.</li>\n<li>Manage inventory of Government Furnished Property (GFP), maintain audit readiness, and support periodic GFP meetings.</li>\n<li>Organize, maintain, and track all classified assets in compliance with security policies.</li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to lab security procedures, including access control, visitor logs, open/close logs, and trusted downloads.</li>\n<li>Submit equipment and facility maintenance requests and manage lab readiness.</li>\n<li>Support lab cleanliness, configuration for events, and scheduling of lab activities.</li>\n<li>Deliver periodic lab status reports to internal and external stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all lab activities.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Skills and Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of experience in absence of a degree (preferably Navy Electronics Technician or Combat Systems experience).</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with classified media handling, OSHA safety standards, and ESD best practices.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in complex lab environments.</li>\n<li>Experience supporting real-time software development efforts.</li>\n<li>Strong organizational and documentation skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Skills and Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hands-on SSDS combat system experience.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of LINUX/UNIX-based operating systems.</li>\n<li>Experience with Navy combat systems (e.g., AEGIS, ZCS).</li>\n<li>Understanding of LAN configurations and facilities planning processes.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education and Certification Requirements:</span> Bachelor’s Degree</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Citizenship and Clearance requirement: </span>US Citizenship and an Active Secret clearance required; TS SCI clearance preferred</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location:</span> Onsite; SSDS Systems Integration Laboratory, San Diego, CA</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Environment: </span>PMAT offices as needed. In some cases, work in a government facility may be required.
