Join us at Aviva Health and be part of a team that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our patients and the community we serve.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">POSITION PURPOSE:</span></p>\n<p>Under the supervision of the Dental Assistant Supervisor, this position provides chairside support during patient care; accurately documents treatments, supplies, and materials; and performs related duties as assigned. The position adheres to all patient safety standards, clinical protocols, and procedures required of an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA).</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sterilizes dental instruments and equipment, including providing backup coverage for the sterilization technician as needed; cleans and maintains dental equipment, operatories, and clinical areas in accordance with established protocols.</li>\n<li>Maintains proper infection control procedures and utilizes required personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with OSHA and organizational standards.</li>\n<li>Prepares patients for treatment by seating patients, obtaining vital signs as required, and reviewing medical history; presents consent forms and witnesses signatures as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Reviews patient charts to ensure documentation, radiographs, and treatment information are current and complete.</li>\n<li>Accurately enters patient information into the electronic dental record and adheres to established safety and clinical protocols for all procedures.</li>\n<li>Performs routine laboratory functions, including pouring and trimming working models; packages and ships models to external laboratories; receives and organizes laboratory cases and documentation.</li>\n<li>Maintains proficiency with electronic dental record software; accurately charts oral health findings, treatment plans, and clinical notes; identifies and reports missing or incomplete documentation to the appropriate staff member.</li>\n<li>Prepares operatories for dental procedures and provides chairside assistance to dentists by passing instruments and supplies as needed.</li>\n<li>Prepares operatories for hygiene procedures and provides chairside assistance to hygienists, including assistance with periodontal charting.</li>\n<li>Completes assigned tasks within established timeframes.</li>\n<li>Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills by identifying issues and applying sound judgment; assists others within the department as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Reports to the designated work location as scheduled and meets established attendance and scheduling requirements necessary to perform essential job functions.</li>\n<li>Adheres to ethical standards and Codes of Conduct established by the American Dental Association, State Board of Dental Examiners, and the Aviva Health.</li>\n<li>Attends required meetings, in-service trainings, and educational sessions.</li>\n<li>Follows all Aviva Health policies and procedures and maintains strict compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.</li>\n<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates flexibility and professionalism while maintaining safe work practices and supporting departmental and community needs.</li>\n<li>Works independently with appropriate supervision, exercises sound judgment, and maintains attention to detail in completing assigned responsibilities.</li>\n<li>Promotes positive and respectful customer service to internal and external customers in a non-discriminatory, confidential, and professional manner.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n<li>Radiology and EFDA certification required.</li>\n<li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to be certified and maintain certification upon hire.</li>\n<li>Dental or EFDA experience required.</li>\n<li>Experience with electronic dental records required.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of dental procedures and procedure codes required.</li>\n<li>Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and external partners, both verbally and in writing.</li>\n<li>Ability to accurately maintain and interpret records related to patient care and dental services.</li>\n<li>Ability to be cross-trained as a Dental Patient Services Representative.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WORKING CONDITIONS:</span></p>\n<p>Must be able to perform the following physical requirements with or without an accommodation:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>In-person work during normal clinic hours; may require traveling to assist in other clinics.</li>\n<li>Remain in stationary position frequently throughout the day while performing clinical/administrative duties.</li>\n<li>Move or traverse frequently throughout the day in the clinic to perform clinical/administrative duties.</li>\n<li>Operate equipment frequently throughout the day using a computer, clinical, and lab equipment.</li>\n<li>Communicate information and ideas clearly and accurately so others will understand; interact with patients and staff clearly.</li>\n<li>Able to move or transport up to 25 pounds while using equipment and providing patient care.</li>\n<li>Typically work indoors in heat-controlled environment.</li>\n<li>OSHA Exposure Category – Category #1: Possible job-related exposure to blood and/or body fluids.
