General Education Faculty consistently demonstrate Arizona College of Nursing’s (AZCN) values of Passion, Adaptability, Accountability, Integrity, and Excellence.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Teaches at least 36 credits per fiscal year.</li>\n <li>Ensures student engagement and awareness of course objectives through approach and evaluation techniques.</li>\n <li>Sets and meets organizational goals that impact student outcomes.</li>\n <li>Plans, teaches, and evaluates classroom, labs, and other learning experiences in conjunction with other team members</li>\n <li>Creates a classroom environment conducive to student success.</li>\n <li>Follows established policies and processes in the Faculty Handbook to address student behavior or performance inconsistent with established standards.</li>\n <li>Communicates clear course objectives and expectations.</li>\n <li>Develops individualized instruction using a variety of well-designed instructional materials including multimedia presentations and current interactive technologies, focusing primarily on experiential and project-based learning.</li>\n <li>Empowers students to think critically about coursework and its applications, especially to the profession of Nursing.</li>\n <li>Identifies students who are \"at risk,\" refers those students to the Dean or Executive Director of Academic Operations (EDAO) and connects those students to resources for their success.</li>\n <li>Provides ongoing student advisement and academic counseling by tutoring and mentoring students on an individual basis when needed.</li>\n <li>Grades tests and projects, maintains grade books, and tracks attendance. Reports all grades and attendance on time. Performs other administrative duties as needed.</li>\n <li>Administers oral, written, or performance tests to measure progress and to evaluate training effectiveness.</li>\n <li>Assists the Dean of General Education (DOGE) or Executive Director of Academic Operations (EDAO) in attracting, developing, and retaining quality faculty and adjuncts.</li>\n <li>Consistently demonstrates a student-centric mentality, applies, and improves tactics to retain students, and achieves high student satisfaction.</li>\n <li>Participates in student centered activities to promote a sense of community between students and faculty.</li>\n <li>Participates in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions (two (2) education in-services, one (1) distance education in-service, proof of at least two (2) professional development activity annually)</li>\n <li>Provides input and participates in academic committees formed for the purpose of enrichment of both the programs and students.</li>\n <li> Demonstrates leadership by serving as a mentor to junior faculty, adjuncts, and students.</li>\n <li>Contributes to other administrative areas to support students, department, and institution such as the Intrusive Advising Program, New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and collegiate faculty meetings.</li>\n <li>Consistently demonstrates and encourages students in the development of soft skills:</li>\n <li>Leadership and ethics</li>\n <li>Communication and critical thinking</li>\n <li>Teamwork and collaboration</li>\n <li>Responsibility and dependability</li>\n <li>Maintains a presence on campus and contributes to the campus culture in a positive and meaningful way.</li>\n <li>Maintains posted office hours.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>All other duties as assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>What We Need From You:</h2>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Masters’ degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) required.</li>\n <li>A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area required. States of Georgia, Ohio, Texas and Virginia require</li>\n <li>Master’s degree in the discipline OR a Master’s degree (any discipline) with 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework relevant to the discipline.</li>\n <li>Two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree, or three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field is required.</li>\n <li>A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator preferred.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What We Are Offering You:</h2>Competitive pay and opportunities for professional development.
