With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a senior Hand Layup Technician. In this role, you will play a crucial role in performing composite layup operations to manufacture high-quality composite parts. The ideal candidate should have at least five years of experience and possess advanced abilities and demonstrate expertise in material placement, orientation, and consolidation techniques. High proficiency in performing vacuum bagging and curing operations are also required for this role. </p>\n<p>As a Senior Composite Technician, you will not only be responsible for executing complex part builds with precision but will also train and mentor other technicians. Your extensive knowledge and experience in composite layup operations will be invaluable in guiding and supporting the professional development of your colleagues.<em> </em>Joby Aviation is dedicated to training and developing individuals with potential, and we are looking for apprentices who are eager to learn and grow within our company. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Shift Schedules below: </p>\n<p>1st shift - Monday – Thursday: 7AM- 5:30PM 2nd shift- Monday - Thursday: 5:30PM - 4:00AM 3rd shift -Friday - Sunday: 6AM - 6:30PM </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform composite layup operations with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring quality standards are met.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Utilize your expertise in material placement, orientation, and consolidation to achieve the desired mechanical properties and part dimensions.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Execute vacuum bagging, debulking, and curing operations with proficiency, ensuring proper consolidation, and curing of composite parts.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Train and mentor other technicians. Sharing your knowledge and skills to help them enhance their composite layup abilities.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead complex part builds, taking charge of planning, organizing, and coordinating the layup process to ensure successful outcomes.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with engineering and design teams to interpret specifications and engineering drawings, ensuring adherence to the required standards.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct quality inspections and perform necessary tests to verify compliance with specifications and identify any defects or irregularities. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>HS Diploma or GED Equivalent </li>\n <li>4+ years of applicable experience in related industry </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Intermediate computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Continuous standing, squatting, bending, pulling, twisting, and lifting throughout the workday. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Lifting of 50 lbs. or less </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must wear PPE when required. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials and able to become certified to wear a respirator.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Continuous standing, squatting, bending, pulling, twisting, and lifting throughout the workday. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to become forklift, crane, or equipment certified  </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>4+ years of aerospace experience with understanding of rapid development and certification process.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>2+ years of experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>2+ years of experience in a high-volume production environment that relies on a well-defined process to achieve maximum efficiency.   </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Skilled practitioner of lean manufacturing or 5S environments. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>The target base pay for this position is $32-$48/hr.
