    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>About Indium Phosphide (InP) Technology</strong><br>\n  The world’s communications infrastructure depends on semiconductor lasers, and particularly those based on<strong> </strong>indium phosphide technology. Indium phosphide lasers are engineered to emit at wavelengths that are optimal for long-distance transmission through fiber optics. In short, they enable the optical networks that form the global internet.<br><br>\n  Coherent’s broad portfolio of InP components includes application-specific Fabry-Pérot lasers, directly modulated lasers (DMLs), and tunable lasers. It also includes photodiodes for high-speed receivers and power monitoring. In 2022, we introduced 200 Gbps indium phosphide electro-absorption modulated lasers (EMLs) for high-speed datacenter transceivers. This design provides our customers with the most advanced, robust, and cost-competitive laser devices for their 800G and next-gen 1.6T datacom transceiver designs.&nbsp;<br><br>\n  Our world-class and highly reliable InP technology platform is one of the very few in the industry that has been proven, with more than one hundred million lasers in the field deployed over the last decades.</p>\n<p>In our drive to develop and introduce cutting-edge products ahead of the competition, we are developing critically advanced components in parallel with higher levels of integration. This creates an NPI environment with significant interdependence and the need for proactive risk management.</p>\n<p>The Senior Reliability Engineering role is pivotal in this process, focusing on lifetime modelling, qualification testing, and ensuring the long-term reliability of leading-edge optoelectronic and silicon photonic components in a highly complex, dynamic R&amp;D setting.&nbsp; This senior level position is expected to serve as primary point of contact for projects.</p>\n<p>This position offers the opportunity to achieve ambitious goals alongside talented, driven professionals—making the work both motivating and rewarding.</p>\n<p><strong><u>Primary Duties &amp; Responsibilities</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as the primary reliability point of contact for the NPI team for certain projects, managing component qualifications and GR-468 qualification of Coherent laser chips and photodetectors.</li>\n <li>Engage with design teams, factories, and internal/external suppliers to ensure new products meet Coherent’s high standards of quality and reliability.</li>\n <li>Analyze lifetime data from different sources, testers etc. and perform reliability and lifetime data analysis</li>\n <li>Present reliability results for new products, process/component changes, deviations, transfers, wafer qualifications, and ongoing reliability programs.</li>\n <li>Prepare reliability reports and product reliability prediction calculations.</li>\n <li>Review reliability data from external vendors and collaborate with suppliers to resolve reliability-related issues.</li>\n <li>Participate in technical discussions and drive failure analysis and corrective actions to closure.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Education &amp; Experience</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Education: MSc / PhD in NPI, Reliability and Product Engineering,</li>\n <li>5+ years of experience in reliability engineering&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Telcordia or other performance and reliability standards, reliability modeling, and lifetime calculations&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prior experience driving the qualification execution to meet strict deadlines.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Positive interpersonal skills necessary to support cross-functional teams</li>\n <li>Strong technical written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Experience with subassembly and semiconductor packaging processes and controls</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Skills</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Semiconductor device reliability</li>\n <li>Wearout failure modes</li>\n <li>Arrhenious equation and acceleration factors</li>\n <li>Random failure modes</li>\n <li>FIT calculations</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Working Conditions</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position is onsite preferred but will consider Hybrid/remote for the right candidate</li>\n <li>Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary</li>\n <li>Interaction with team members is a regular part of the job</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Physical Requirements</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.</li>\n <li>Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.</li>\n <li>Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Safety Requirements</u></strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
