    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Sterile Processing Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) continuous years of recent (one year of which must have occurred within the last year) experience working as sterile processing technician in an SPD setting. Have diverse sterile processing experiences to include instrument decontamination, assembly and preparation, and sterilization. Ability to operate and troubleshoot all processing equipment to include washer-disinfectors, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and automatic endoscope reprocessors.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Knowledgeable in the following surgical instrument specialties: general surgery, urology, robotics, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, eye surgery, ENT, GYN, vascular and orthopedic surgery.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is more than just a job, it’s an opportunity to provide meaningful, hands-on care for the service members and families who serve our nation. No Telework allowed.</li>\n <li><strong>Duty Hours:</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Hours of performance may include shift work. Normal duty hours may include rotating 8, 10, 12-hour and part-time shifts, 7 days per week including nights, weekends and federal holidays. The work schedule may include shift work (see hours of performance). Work will not exceed 12 hours in a 24-hour period and 80 hours in a consecutive 14-day period.</li>\n   <li>Available Shift Schedule (Sunday – Saturday)\n    <ul>\n     <li><p>1st Shift: 0645-1515</p></li>\n     <li><p>11 Shift: 1045-1915</p></li>\n     <li><p>2nd Shift: 1445-2315</p></li>\n     <li><p>3rd Shift: 2245-0715</p></li>\n    </ul></li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li> The contract Sterile Processing Technician shall perform essentially the same duties as those required of any military operating room technicians or Government Civil Service Sterile Processing Technician of similar experience and in similar duty assignments. </li>\n <li>Instrument decontamination, assembly and sterilization of the following surgical specialties: general surgery, robotics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, OB/GYN, OMFS, vascular and orthopedic surgery. </li>\n <li>Prepare instrumentation and supplies for surgery as necessary, including use of various methods of sterilization.</li>\n <li>Monitors and tracks surgical instruments using computer automated instrument tracking log/system.</li>\n <li>Performs record keeping for all sterilization processes.</li>\n <li>Checks expiration dates on all sterile supply items, removes outdated items, and rotates the stock on a “first in, first out” basis.</li>\n <li>Maintains and restocks Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) cart exchange program including transportation of CPR carts in emergency situations and maintaining supplies and documentation.</li>\n <li>Assembles and disassembles instrumentation and equipment per manufacturer’s instructions for use (MIFU).</li>\n <li>Perform daily and weekly cleanings and function testing on all equipment.</li>\n <li>Participate in the Orientation and Training of 68D Students, new employees, medical interns, nursing students, residents, and other medical training program provided by Tripler Army Medical center. The contract Sterile Processing Technologist shall assist with oversight of the 68D students as needed. The contractors may be assigned to assist in the orientation of staff members and/or training of 68D students.</li>\n <li>Daily assignments may include orientation or training of students and new personnel. The contractors shall assist in training staff members and 68D in the operation of sterile processing equipment, handling and assembling instruments and sets, procedures for decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of equipment and instruments.</li>\n <li>The contract Sterile Processing Technician shall be assigned to carry a paging and/or other electronic communication devices used by the operating room personnel.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Degree/Education:</strong> High School Diploma or GED.</li>\n <li><strong>Certification(s):</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Completion of a sterile processing/supply training course. Current certification by the International Association of Healthcare Central Services Materials Management or current certification by the National Institute of Health Care Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel.</li>\n   <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Certification cards must display the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Web-based (on-line) classes are not acceptable by the Government.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 3 continuous years (one year of which must have occurred within the last year) experience working as sterile processing technician in an SPD setting.</li>\n <li><strong>Legal Authorization to Work in the United States:</strong> The contract worker performing under this contract must be a U.S. Citizen.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Occupational Health: The contract worker shall be required to obtain documentation of required physical testing or a report of a physical examination.</li>\n <li>Tuberculosis Screening: The Contractor ensure contract workers shall be screened for tuberculosis (TB).</li>\n <li>Health Requirements.
