Overview Dohrn Transfer is a leading Midwest LTL Carrier providing less-than-truckload, truckload, and value-added services throughout our 10-state service area. Responsibilities PURPOSE: To provide critical support to and within the Human Resources Department including maintenance of employee data, compliance with all laws and company policies, and assistance in the execution of HR initiatives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: •Dispatching as needed for absences/PTO (estimate 5 weeks per year) 3-4 hours per day for Operational support: •Set up OB Dock daily.•Help manage interline process daily. •Other Operational duties as needed•Lead recruiting including review of applications, scheduling interviews, performing interviews, and recommending hires for approval by Terminal Manager. •Manage iCIMS for all positions and manage entire paper and electronic recruiting process including all required forms•Request requisition openings and closings along with advertising needs to Recruiting & Retention Specialist with continuous/timely updates•Onboarding/New Hire welcome responsibilities including tours, introductions, coordinating attendance at orientation, meeting supervisors, etc. •Manage probation evaluation program assuring all evaluations are completed by supervisors and submitted by deadline to Human Resources•Manage yearly PTO bidding, Start Time Preference Sheet and Linehaul bidding processes. •Oversee WFM assuring supervisors and support staff have all forms and entries completed by Friday of each week; assuring completion and submission of all documents to finance by weekly deadline. Assist with attendance binder review/counseling. •Follow-up meetings with new employees to assure we are providing all resources needed. Perform a 4 month (post-probation) follow up meeting with every new employee. Manage system to assure meetings are held•Manage the uniform ordering program and follow-up with employees to assure they have received everything and understand the uniform policy •Attend job fairs focused hiring needs. Back up/support Corp HR Specialists for other job fairs if needed•Potential travel as back-up/support of HR Specialists for high priority terminals if needed•Build and Track metrics and provide reports to HR, Terminal Manager and others•Work with HR, Terminal Manager and others on building retention programs focused • Perform other duties as needed Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid Driver License• 4 year degree and 2 years’ experience in Business, HR or other related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite• Excellent data entry and typing skills preferred• Human Resources experience preferred• Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem-solver• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and react to change productively• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems• Ability to work on tasks independently or in a team environment• Excellent attendance WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time • May be occasionally required to exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects • The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc; • Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor• Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers• Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
