    "description_html": "<p><strong>Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp.</strong></p><p><strong>Minneapolis, MN</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position</strong>: Electrical Tester (High Voltage) &nbsp;- 1st Shift</p><p><strong>Team:</strong> Quality Team</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Primary Objective of Position:</strong></u></p><p>A Tester provides validated product performance data by performing test setup, operation, troubleshooting, calibration and reporting. Internally we refer to this position as a Tester.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Major Areas of Accountability:</strong></u></p><ul><li>Set up, connect, test and adjust test items such as motors, generators, control equipment and specifically designed power apparatus to meet IEEE, API, NEMA and other product specifications.</li><li>Read information pertaining to apparatus to be tested, such as production order, engineering data sheets, process specifications, test specifications, and drawings.</li><li>Prepare data sheets, test plans and reports electronically to meet internal and external customer requirements.</li><li>Use auxiliary testing apparatus such as pony brakes, generators, voltmeters, ammeters, dynamometers, driving motors, tachometers, meggers and high-pot equipment.</li><li>Check machines for common defects before setup and, if found, reports to supervisor for proper disposition.</li><li>Connect test unit through necessary meters, generators, shunts, instrument transformers, resistors, reactors or other apparatus as required.</li><li>Collect, record and analyze data for comparison to specification.</li><li>Mechanical setup, test and dynamic balance of components.</li><li>Performs electrical in-process verification of compliance to specifications.</li><li>Calibrates and maintains electrical test equipment including development of electronic databases, standards, work instructions and procedures.</li><li>Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane.</li><li>Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work.</li><li>Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><u><strong>Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities:</strong></u></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced certificate/degree in related field desired.</li><li>Ability to work with minimal supervision and is self-motivated.</li><li>Must be able to work with a team and independently.</li><li>Good oral and written communications skills.</li><li>Ability to effectively partner and communicate with external and internal customers at all levels of the organization.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></u></p><ul><li>Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 20 lbs.</li><li>Occasionally lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Occasionally ascends/descends ladders and stairs.</li><li>Occasionally works at heights or on platforms.</li><li>Occasionally positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight or confined spaces.</li><li>Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.</li><li>Occasionally uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands or fingers to operate machinery or tools.</li><li>Occasionally operates machinery and power tools.</li><li>Routinely moves from one work station to another to accomplish tasks.</li></ul><p><strong>Job Type</strong></p><p>Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.</p><p>Full-time (Union)</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Skills Matrix:</strong></p><p>The Tester position is part of the Quality Team skills Matrix.
