Description GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervise mechanics, service personnel, processes, and procedures to ensure all work orders are completed safely in accordance with manufacture specifications, and company policies. Works directly for the Maintenance Manager to report any concerns and opportunities that arise to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: Oversees a team of mechanics and service personnel. Delegate work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervise and coordinate mechanical team. Which may include completing or assisting with repairs if we are short staffed. Collaborates with DOT administrator/dispatcher to ensure efficient transportation of equipment. Inspects, plans, and forecasts quality and quantity of harvesting equipment for future harvesting. Responsible for harvesting equipment - trains, delegates and ensures that employees comply with all safety measures, proper operation of assigned equipment, daily inspections, equipment safety procedures, sanitation of equipment, and reporting repair and maintenance concerns or opportunities to Maintenance Manager. Follows, and motivates employees to understand, company procedures and policies. Suggests changes in working conditions, maintenance, and repair of equipment to increase efficiency. Reports employee performance to Fleet Maintenance Manager in an equitable and consistent manner. Assists in recruitment efforts and ensures new employees are processed through Human Resources in accordance with legal requirements and company policies. Attends supervisor meetings with Maintenance Manager weekly to share information regarding equipment, employees, concerns, and opportunities needing attention. Comply with on-call policy as directed by the Maintenance Manager. Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Must have high mechanical aptitude and experience in repairing harvesting equipment. Excellent supervisory and leadership skills. Must be able to motivate and train others. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to comprehend and convey mechanical information. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt quickly to a multicultural environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure. Bilingual and Biliterate – English and Spanish, preferred. LICENSES REQUIRED :  Regular Class “E” Driver’s License EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Must have 5+ years of work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Experience in sugar cane harvesting equipment is highly desired. Experience using computers and software, MS Office suite, required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Regular attendance is required during your scheduled shift. Sitting, Walking, Standing, Kneeling, Crawling, Climbing, and Reaching Lifting occasionally up to 50 pounds.
