    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>We are designing the grid of the future!  </strong></p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Distribution Design Engineer</strong> with<strong> distribution design experience</strong> to support electric utility projects across northern Illinois. <strong>The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing overhead and underground distribution systems in compliance with ComEd standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.</strong></p>\n<p>This role involves collaborating with internal engineering teams, utility clients, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality distribution designs for new construction, system upgrades, and reliability improvement projects.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>How you can make an impact:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design <strong>overhead and underground electric distribution systems</strong> in accordance with ComEd standards and specifications</li>\n <li>Prepare and review <strong>distribution design packages</strong>, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Construction drawings</li>\n   <li>Pole Foreman</li>\n   <li>Permitting/CAD Drawings</li>\n   <li>Asset Suite 8</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Utilize ComEd-approved tools and systems T.E.D./CEIGIS<strong>, Pole Foreman, IKE, Asset Suite 8, JWA, MicroStation/AutoCAD</strong>.</li>\n <li>Perform field reviews, site walks, and design validation as required</li>\n <li>Coordinate with ComEd engineers, municipal agencies, and property owners</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with <strong>NESC, OSHA, and ComEd safety standards</strong></li>\n <li>Support permitting, easements, and right-of-way requirements</li>\n <li>Respond to design comments and revise plans as needed</li>\n <li>Meet project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in <strong>Electrical Engineering</strong> or related discipline (or equivalent utility experience)</li>\n <li><strong>2+ years of electric distribution design experience</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Direct ComEd distribution design experience (required)</strong></li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Overhead and underground distribution systems (4 kV – 34.5 kV)</li>\n  <li>Utility construction standards and materials</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Proficiency with industry design software and drafting tools</li>\n <li>Ability to interpret utility standards, maps, and field data</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and documentation skills</li>\n <li>Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation under experience </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with <strong>joint-use, relocations, fiber make ready, DA, and New service design</strong></li>\n <li>Familiarity with <strong>ComEd processes and construction standards</strong></li>\n <li>Prior experience working with a utility consulting firms on ComEd designs</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Lead the Change!</strong></p>\n<p>Be a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.
