    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">TITLE: MIDDLE SCHOOL/HIGH SCHOOL MATH TEACHER</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Primary Purpose:  </span></span></p>\n<p>The Teacher of Mathematics will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, through planning engaging lessons to enable all pupils to make the best possible progress.</p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Responsibilities:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, maintain and stimulate pupils’ curiosity, interest, and enjoyment in Mathematics</li>\n<li>Enable all pupils to have equal access to Mathematics and to experience success in their work</li>\n<li>Develop pupils’ familiarity, competence, and confidence with appropriate Mathematical concepts, principles, methods, and vocabulary</li>\n<li>Provide challenge for every pupil and to encourage all pupils to achieve their potential in Mathematics</li>\n<li>Develop pupils’ understanding and applications of Mathematics in its wider context</li>\n<li>Share in departmental best practice</li>\n<li>Willingness to invest extra time to ensure students achieve the best standard</li>\n<li>Willingness to help out with departmental responsibilities</li>\n<li>Plan, prepare and deliver purposeful and productive lessons to assigned classes.</li>\n<li>Be prepared to innovate and devise imaginatively varied ways of teaching their subjects to inspire pupils.</li>\n<li>Encourage pupils and show enthusiasm for their subject in the classroom.</li>\n<li>Mark work according to departmental and School marking policies, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of pupils’ progress in their subject.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate an awareness of Assessment for Learning strategies and personalize the learning of all pupils, as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Select and use a range of different learning resources and teaching styles, appropriate to the subject and topic.</li>\n<li>Participate in mutual lesson observations both within and beyond their department as a part of sharing best practices.</li>\n<li>Use teaching strategies that allow for the full range of ability and learning styles in each class, particularly taking into account the learning needs of LDD pupils.</li>\n<li>Research new topic areas and maintain up-to-date subject knowledge.</li>\n<li>Undertake report writing and the award of internal grades as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Qualifications:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor's degree in education with a specialization in mathematics, or equivalent.</li>\n<li>Proven experience as a Math Teacher.</li>\n<li>A thorough understanding of best practices in teaching.</li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n<li>Organized, flexible disposition.</li>\n<li>Outstanding interpersonal skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About American Baccalaureate School:</span></p>\n<p>ABS is a private, non­-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses, and a college preparatory program, guiding students to become independent, intellectual global citizens.
