We encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our vibrant campus community today!&nbsp;</p>\n<p>At the <strong>University of Wyoming</strong>, we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching workplace.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>JOB TITLE: &nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>Buddy Epsen Archives Scan Technician&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>JOB PURPOSE: </strong> &nbsp;</p>\n<p>This is a part-time temporary position to assist with digitizing the AHC's Buddy Ebsen collection material to provide content for access for the AHC’s online digital platform Luna.</p>\n<p>The Archives Scan Tech position will primarily digitize paper and photographs within the Buddy Ebsen collection to precise standards for preservation and access to the AHC’s online digital collections. The position may also be asked to digitize a/v material (audio, motion picture film, and video).&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The&nbsp;starting rate of pay is $10.50 per hour, but may be adjusted based on experience.  &nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>Primary duties are:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>digital scanning of analog archival materials according to archival imaging standards</li>\n <li>the transport and handling of that material according to archival best practices</li>\n <li>the creation of descriptive metadata and supporting documentary records</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Other miscellaneous and related duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Digitization Lab Supervisor. This position reports directly to the Digitization Lab Supervisor.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong> &nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Education: </strong>High School Diploma or GED</p>\n<p><strong>Other requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work independently.</li>\n <li>Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, performing them in a relatively short period of time.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written format.</li>\n <li>Computer, software, and writing skills commensurate with the creation of college level class assignments.</li>\n <li>Physically capable of moving and lifting up to 50lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Advanced computer skills relating to digital scanning hardware and software.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with metadata standards, particularly Dublin Core.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of archives theory and practice.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Excel.</li>\n <li>Interest in western history, photography, and audio-visual (AV) would be beneficial in this position.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS: </strong></p>\n<p>Complete the online application and upload the following for a complete application: cover letter, resume or C.V. and contact information for three work-related references.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>WORK LOCATION:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>On-campus:</strong> <span>This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.</span></p>\n<p><strong>HIRING STATEMENT/EEO:  &nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
