We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit, drive for career advancement and desire to develop relationships to join our team as an Associate Underwriter. Our Associate Underwriters underwrite and supervise a portion of an Underwriter’s book of business, support renewal and new business development, and have the opportunity to achieve full underwriting authority.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Service a book of business under the direct supervision of an underwriter</li>\n <li>Evaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing to prepare quotes</li>\n <li>Log applications, prepare binders, and process policies and endorsements</li>\n <li>Bind risk, post the invoice, and process technical data</li>\n <li>Screen renewal applications and send out renewal letters; perform some of the underwriting and prepare quotes for underwriter approval</li>\n <li>Assist with new business development</li>\n <li>Order and follow up on inspections, plus handle endorsement requests and referrals for the underwriter</li>\n <li>Manage relationships with retail agents and follow up on any outstanding information needed to complete the underwriting file</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>\n <li>2+ years of Underwriting support or industry experience with excess and surplus lines is preferred</li>\n <li>Demonstrated proficiency and previous experience in sales and marketing is preferred</li>\n <li>Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail</li>\n <li>Interest in continued education and professional development to obtain full underwriting authority</li>\n <li>Technologically savvy and data driven </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Base salary range of $60K to $75K dependent upon experience</li>\n <li>Employer paid continuing education courses and designations via access to Kaufman Institute</li>\n <li>Health and welfare benefits including medical, vision and dental</li>\n <li>401K with employer match</li>\n <li>Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays</li>\n <li>Access to Kaufman Wellness Program</li>\n <li>Flexible and hybrid work options</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About Our Company</h2>\n<p>Burns & Wilcox, the flagship organization of H.W.
