Assists the pharmacist(s) in maintaining an adequate drug inventory and quality control procedures. The Pharmacy Technician shall work under the direct supervision of a licensed registered pharmacist and shall only perform activities that are in compliance with the State Board of Pharmacy practices. Ensures company&#39;s goals and objectives are aligned with the organization&#39;s broader mission, vision, and driving strategies. Directly accountable and reports to the Pharmacy Manager.</p><p><br><strong>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p>1. Assists pharmacist in organizing the pharmacy workload.</p><p>2. Performs prescription/order data entry, generates prescription labels, compounding documents and delivery slips under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.</p><p>3. Compounds and otherwise prepares pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment under the direct supervision of a pharmacist as allowed by state and federal law and in accordance with USP 797, company policies and accrediting entity standards.</p><p>4. Cleans, tests, maintain and track pumps and other infusion equipment as requested.</p><p>5. Performs and records various quality control activities including air sampling, bacterial counts, and Steri-Testing. Reports all &ldquo;positive&rdquo; results to the pharmacy supervisor immediately.</p><p>6. Ensures the clean room suites and related equipment are cleaned and maintained per organizational policy and procedure, USP 797, USP 800 and state and federal regulations.</p><p>7. Completes KabaFusion orientation and annual competencies and mandatory inservices.</p><p>8. Updates patient&#39;s demographic information in the electronic information management system as needed and ongoing.</p><p>9. Answers/triages telephone calls and provides non-clinical assistance to callers as appropriate or directs callers to appropriate department.</p><p>10. Proactively manages patients&#39; medication/supply/equipment inventory needs by communicating with patient or responsible party prior to filling anticipated needs. Maintains refill/follow-up schedule/calendar as appropriate.</p><p>11. Assures authorization to receive payment for services rendered is in place prior to shipping medications, supplies and equipment to patients.</p><p>12. Track and retrieve patient laboratory results for pharmacists and fax results to prescribers and other healthcare providers involved in a patient&#39;s care.</p><p data-pasted=\"true\">13. Documents all communication with physicians. Referral sources, nurses, patients and caregivers in the electronic information management system as required.</p><p>14. Assists pharmacy staff in scheduling, coordinating and filling patient shipments and deliveries.</p><p>15. Sorts and distributes faxes. Faxes correspondence to prescribers. Home health agencies and others as applicable.</p><p>16. Assists pharmacy manager and staff in handling a wide range of administrative functions and projects.</p><p>17. Assists in maintaining pharmacy files and records in an accurate and efficient manner.</p><p>18. Assists with managing and ordering patient start of care forms and other pharmacy forms.</p><p>19. Generates and distributes quality assurance and management reports as assigned.</p><p>20. Communicates any and all nurse. Patient and caregiver clinical concerns and questions to the pharmacist, pharmacy manager or other appropriate clinical staff.</p><p>21. Prepares and places orders for needed drugs, supplies and equipment, and stock/maintain such materials upon receipt.</p><p>22. Actively participates in the KabaFusion Performance Improvement (Pl) program</p><p>23. Provides support to other local office departments as needed.</p><p>24. Ensures required documentation is completed on QA/QC records and compounding documents.</p><p>25. Completes company required orientation and annual competencies and in services.</p><p>26. Plans work to ensure cost-effective delivery methods are utilized.</p><p>27.
