    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p id=\"isPasted\">Under the direction of the HVAC Supervisor performs supervised repair work. &nbsp; Work requires contact with the public. &nbsp; Performs other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ol><li>Maintains and repairs existing HVAC systems.</li><li>Maintains and repairs condensers, evaporator coils, air handlers/gas furnaces, air ducts, refrigerant lines, vent hoods, and bathroom exhaust fans.&nbsp;</li><li>Will be responsible for removing old systems and installing new systems.</li><li>Will be responsible for running new piping and ducts to existing units.&nbsp;</li><li>Will construct interior furnishings such as utility cabinets and storage shelves, and lay out carpentry and masonry materials.</li><li>Interprets construction plans, sketches, or other specifications; determine requirements, types, dimensions, and quantities of materials required.</li><li>Will fabricate building material to construction plans and specifications.</li><li>Will prepare and maintain all proper documentation that is required by local, state, and government regulations to include all EPA requirements.</li><li>Will ensure proper horizontal and vertical alignment, grout and shape joints.</li><li>Will adjust, troubleshoot, repair, and install all HVAC systems as recommended by manufactures specifications.</li><li>Maintain in good working order heating, plumbing, and electrical appliances and fixtures as related to HVAC systems.</li><li>Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li></ol><p><strong>&nbsp;JOB REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><p>1. Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. &nbsp;Must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) months previous experience utilizing the methods, materials and equipment used in various phases of HVAC operations to include plumbing, electrical and carpentry. Must be EPA certified.&nbsp;</p><p>2. Required - Must hold a valid Texas Driver License and maintain a satisfactory driver&rsquo;s record. &nbsp;May operate Authority vehicle while on Housing Authority business.</p><p>3. Required - Ability to work hours other than 8-5 in variable weather conditions and overtime as required meeting Housing Authority goals and objectives.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: &nbsp;</strong></p><ol><li>Good working knowledge of the materials, equipment, and methods used in repair work.</li><li>Ability to operate circular saws, reciprocating saw, drill, recovery machine (Freon), vacuum pump, manifold gauges, psychrometer, tubing cutters, and an assortment of other refrigerant hand tools.&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;Good working knowledge of safety hazards, and precautions pertinent to this position.</li><li>Ability to maintain and repair all equipment that is utilized.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.</li><li>Ability to maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate good judgment and integrity with staff, residents, and the public.</li><li>Ability to deal effectively with diverse groups and individuals.</li><li>Ability to plan and organize workload.</li><li>Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions.</li><li>Ability to wear personal protective equipment and comply with safety requirements.</li><li>Maintains confidentiality of necessary information.</li><li>Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste.</li><li>Works in a safety conscious manner, which insures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self and others.</li><li>Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state, and government regulations, and maintains a dependable attendance record.</li><li>Physical Demands: Ability to lift or move a minimum of 50 pounds. &nbsp; Routinely may be required to exert considerable physical effort in moving and carrying heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds, such as condenser units, air handlers/furnaces and refrigerators. &nbsp; Ability to work, move, walk, stand, and bend for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours); with occasional climbing, kneeling, stooping, reaching at, below, and/or above shoulder height, pushing, pulling, and carrying, required. &nbsp;Ability to work under variable weather conditions.&nbsp;</li></ol></div>\n",
