Description

As an Avionics Electrical Engineer , you will design and test custom circuit boards and other avionics devices that enable our space vehicles to meet mission requirements. You will work directly with software engineers, propulsion engineers, GNC engineers, and others. You will have the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of spacecraft electronics development, from designing new circuit boards to testing, debugging and integrating them onto space vehicles. (Leveling will be commensurate with experience). Develop circuit boards for spacecraft, with an emphasis on analog, digital or control electronics Perform rigorous analyses and simulations of avionics devices and systems Act as the Responsible Engineering authority for your hardware, owning your design from board bring-up and debugging in the lab through qualification and flight operations Define hardware interfaces and verify requirements Establish and maintain high technical standards Partner with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing and test teams Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Proficiency with electronic component selection, analysis, simulation, schematics, and layout Knowledge of mixed-signal and analog circuit design including analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, opamps, filtering, signal integrity, etc. Hands on experience troubleshooting electronics problems at the board level Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale and/or resolve concerns Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Experience with Altium Designer Experience doing new development work for any of the following: power converters, load switches, engine controllers, processors, or any other specialized area relevant to spacecraft or rockets Experience in a startup or agile development environment Additional Information: Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options , and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan . Impulse Space’s spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
