    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p> Responsible for implementation of daily activities of individuals in his/her charge on and off the dayhab site.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Implement habilitation plans for participants by reviewing records, observing and providing feedback to improve participants’ skills. Responsible for documentation of site and community based activities. </li>\n <li>Assists and supports participants in developing and maintaining their independent functioning. This may include all areas of personal hygiene (i.e. toileting, handwashing, showering, tooth brushing, hair care, nail care, dressing and eating).</li>\n <li>Utilizes all information in the Protective Oversights to provide needed support to the individuals.</li>\n <li>Implements appropriate community based activities for participants</li>\n <li>Trains and supports participants as they perform volunteer activities in the community to the satisfaction of staff at the community site</li>\n <li>Ensures protection of participants as they perform volunteer activities in the community to the satisfaction of staff at the community site</li>\n <li>Responsible for overseeing the safe arrival and departure of participants to and from the Day Habilitation site.</li>\n <li>Assists in maintaining an orderly work environment. Assists in keeping equipment and supplies in good condition.</li>\n <li>May act as an advocate to address concerns on behalf of participants’ rights</li>\n <li>Transports participants to and from community outings. Ensures safety of participants during community activity</li>\n <li>Reports changes in participants’ physical condition to the Day Habilitation nurses and supervisor in order to ensure that medical needs are met in a timely fashion</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Performs addition duties as requested by supervisor.</em></p>\n<p><em> </em></p>\n<p><em>          Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff. </em></p>\n<p><em>          Observance of an unsafe act or a potentially hazardous work environment must be immediately reported to supervisor and/or safety committee.</em></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>H.S. or Equivalent preferred.  </li>\n <li>Min. one year working with the developmentally disabled population preferred.  </li>\n <li>Valid and qualified NYS driver’s license required.  </li>\n <li>Good Oral and written communication skills.  </li>\n <li>CPR/First Aid and defensive driving training preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>",
