Interacts at a basic level with customers, providing a high level of customer service to resolve customer concerns about sample acceptability and results. Supports preparation of laboratory reagents and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment .</p>\n<h2>Total Rewards Package</h2>\n<p><strong>Compensation</strong>The target salary is based on internal averages. Full-time regular employes are eligible for Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holidays, Short- and Long-term disability, life insurance, 7% match dollar for dollar 401(k), voluntary programs, discount programs, others.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Understand and perform to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.</li>\n <li>Perform testing, as scheduled.</li>\n <li>Support sample evaluation and processing, as needed.</li>\n <li>Perform on-call, weekend, and holiday work, as scheduled.</li>\n <li>Perform reagent preparation, as scheduled.</li>\n <li>Operate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance and calibration on equipment.</li>\n <li>Support customer inquiries via phone, email, and lab information system (LIS).</li>\n <li>Support the maintenance of reagent and supply inventory.</li>\n <li>Maintain sample integrity and ensure proper identification of all specimens.</li>\n <li>May participate in validations.</li>\n <li>May support training, as assigned.</li>\n <li>Maintain organization of departmental records, as needed.</li>\n <li>May assist in educating fellows, residents, students, and visitors to the laboratory.</li>\n <li>May support preparation or management of proficiency samples in the laboratory.</li>\n <li>May release results in accordance to training and compliance requirements.</li>\n <li>Review daily work for accuracy and escalate as appropriate.</li>\n <li>May provide support for transfusion product selection, as applicable.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification</li>\n <li>Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements</li>\n <li>Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in biology, chemistry, molecular biology, immunology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field. required</li>\n <li>Associate's Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals.</li>\n <li>Must have basic mathematical aptitude.</li>\n <li>Ability to apply judgment to detailed and structured written or oral instructions.</li>\n <li>Ability to organize work to provide efficient and productive workflow.</li>\n <li>Flexibility to work independently and with a team.</li>\n <li>Must have strong attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Must have basic communication skills.</li>\n <li>Possess legible handwriting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Tools and Technology</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Personal Computer (desktop, laptop, tablet). required</li>\n <li>General office equipment (i.e. computer, printer, fax, copy machine). required</li>\n <li>Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook). required</li>\n <li>Software systems (including but not limited to Customer Relationship Management Software, Laboratory Information Systems, Learning Management System). required</li>\n <li>Lab/department specific equipment, including, but not limited to: required</li>\n <li>Pipettes (single channel, multi-channel, electronic, etc.). required</li>\n <li>Centrifuges, freezers, refrigerators. required</li>\n <li>pH meter, microscopes, balances. required</li>\n <li>Flow Cytometry based equipment required</li>\n <li>Spectrophotometer required</li>\n <li>qPCR Instrumentation required</li>\n <li>Thermal Cycler required</li>\n <li>Gel Electrophoresis required</li>\n <li>Sequencer required</li>\n <li>Aggregometer required</li>\n <li>Automated instruments (hematology counter, DNA isolator, plate washer, Coagulation analyzer, etc.). required</li>\n</ul>",
