Description
Who We Are
At 80 Acres Farms , we're on a mission to change the way the world eats—and we're looking for people who want to help us do it.
We grow pesticide-free salads, herbs, microgreens, and salad kits in smart vertical farms that produce more food with far fewer resources—using up to 95% less water and renewable electricity, with no reliance on weather or seasons. Our produce is available in more than 17,000 retail locations nationwide, including Kroger, Whole Foods, HEB, and The Fresh Market, and reaches food service partners across the country year-round.
What makes this possible is a combination of people, technology, and purpose. Our proprietary growing platform, developed by our technology subsidiary, Infinite Acres, provides our teams with real-time data and control over every aspect of the growing environment—making our farms among the most advanced in the world. We operate commercial farms in Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, and Colorado, packhouses in Indiana, Virginia, and Washington, and research and development facilities in Arkansas, Israel, and the Netherlands.
We've grown significantly through the acquisitions of Kalera and Soli Organic, and we're just getting started.
If you're passionate about sustainability, food, and building something that matters, we'd love to have you on the team.
The Impact You’ll Make
The Lead Inventory & Materials Supervisor serves as the site-level leader for inventory integrity and material flow. This role goes beyond daily oversight to lead the execution of site logistics while actively contributing to the development of regional or organizational inventory strategies. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Lead Materials Supervisor ensures that material movement is not only efficient but also scalable, making decisions that directly impact production uptime, financial accuracy, and supply chain agility.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Strategic Leadership & Execution
Assist in developing and implementing site-level material SOPs that align with broader corporate supply chain and finance objectives. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of materials at the site, making independent decisions on space optimization, workflow prioritization, and labor allocation. Act as a strategic liaison between Operations, Cost Accounting, Procurement, and Finance to ensure audit readiness and proactive material availability. Direct and mentor the shipping, receiving, and inventory teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and professional growth. Inventory Strategy & Control
Serve as the primary architect for site-level cycle counting; analyze count data to identify systemic trends and recommend structural process improvements. Lead all physical inventory events; partner with Cost Accounting to investigate high-level variances and implement long-term corrective actions to minimize loss. Design and refine warehouse layouts using 5S and Lean principles to maximize storage density and minimize material handling touches. Integrated Logistics Operations
Direct the Shipping, Receiving, and Cross-Dock functions, ensuring that site-level execution supports the broader multi-site network. Set KPIs for the materials team; lead coaching and performance reviews to build a high-performing, flexible workforce. Own the safety culture within material storage areas, ensuring all equipment and workflows meet or exceed OSHA and company standards. Materials Coordination & Supply Chain Support
Partner with Procurement to refine stocking parameters, safety stock levels, and replenishment signals based on production trends and site constraints. Forecast material needs for consumables and non-BOM items to prevent operational bottlenecks. Identify and lead projects (e.g., implementing new ERP modules, automating tracking, or streamlining vendor return processes). This role may include rebuying responsibilities.
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in inventory, warehousing, or materials management, with at least 2 years in leadership or "Lead" capacity within manufacturing or food production. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field or Equivalent experience. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software; ability to leverage data for root-cause analysis.
What Makes You Successful Here
Strategic Mindset with a proven ability to move beyond daily tasks to identify process gaps and implement scalable solutions. Demonstrated experience managing hourly teams and influencing cross-functional peers. APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
