Youth Care Specialist, part-time, weekend morning shifts.
At Every Child’s Hope (ECH), we partner with the community to support children, youth, and families in their pursuit of health and wholeness through quality, professional, and faithful services. Rooted in a trauma-informed approach, our mission is to provide hope for every child and healing for every family—every day. As a Youth Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for youth in our residential treatment program. This position is central to promoting healing, building resilience, and supporting youth in overcoming adversity and reaching their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Safety
· Provide attuned, trauma-sensitive supervision to ensure youth safety and accountability at all times.
· Maintain secure and sanitary living areas free from contraband and hazards, while respecting youth dignity and autonomy.
Treatment Support
· Participate actively in treatment team meetings, contributing insights that reflect youth strengths and needs.
· Apply Safe Crisis Management techniques and Trauma-Informed Care principles to de-escalate situations and promote emotional regulation.
· Administer medications per agency policy and respond to crises with calm, compassionate intervention.
Daily Living & Life Skills
· Facilitate daily routines that promote predictability and emotional safety.
· Provide hands-on instruction in life skills such as hygiene, cooking, cleaning, and fitness, emphasizing empowerment and self-efficacy.
Communication & Documentation
· Complete progress notes and treatment documentation accurately and on time, using strength-based language.
· Reporting Conduct maintenance and safety needs, modeling shared responsibility and pride in space.
Professionalism & Community Engagement
· Foster trusting, respectful relationships with youth, staff, and community partners.
· Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality, especially regarding trauma histories.
· Participate in required training and promote a positive, inclusive youth culture that reflects ECH’s values.
· Maintain open, respectful communication with staff via logs, email, and meetings to ensure collaborative care.
Job Type: Part-time, weekends, morning shifts, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, day shifts 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Pay: From $17.50 per hour
Workdays:
Part-time, Weekends, morning shifts, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, day shifts 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Opportunity to pick up open shifts.
Qualifications
Required Key Skills and Qualifications:
· A commitment to trauma-informed principles, including safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.
· Experience identifying and implementing solutions that ensure inclusive participation and opportunity.
· A proven ability to leverage relevant qualifications to inform healing-centered strategies.
· Strong communication skills to distribute clear, compassionate, and culturally responsive information.
· Dedication to continuous learning, including trauma-informed awareness through new hire and annual training.
Essential Functions and Physical Demands
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Regularly required to sit and stand
· Requires the use of Safe Crisis Management (SCM) techniques, which include occasional physical interventions and will require assisting individuals to the floor, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
· Required to pass physical examination.
· Required to obtain and maintain training and certification as mandated by Licensing Regulations
Additional Requirements
· High School Diploma.
· Preferred experience 1 year in direct youth care
