Our multi-disciplined team uses its skills and experience to improve our communities with a sustainable, context driven and integrated project delivery mindset. Sponsored by Deloitte Private and <em>The Wall Street Journal</em>, the award celebrates companies demonstrating excellence in strategy, execution, culture, and financial performance—qualities that continue to drive our growth and success.</p>\n<p>To learn more about this designation, visit: News | VHB Recognized as a 2025 U.S. Best Managed Company | VHB</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform engineering related duties as a lead project engineer including analysis and design on complex transportation projects, grading, and plan preparation</li>\n <li>Lead and oversee the design and production of various transportation projects, including highway widenings/reconstruction, intersection improvements, roundabouts, shared-use paths and bike/pedestrian trails.</li>\n <li>Delegate tasks and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.</li>\n <li>Lead production of Client deliverables, including construction documents, with a focus on project budget and schedule</li>\n <li>Perform best practices, in compliance with VHB standards, for quality control of work products</li>\n <li>Meet with clients to prepare and validate scope of work </li>\n <li>Assist marketing with technical development of proposal or presentation materials </li>\n <li>Engage and coordinate multi-discipline design team(s), including coordination with subconsultants, </li>\n <li>Collaborate with technical specialists to resolve technical and coordination issues and conflicting design criteria </li>\n <li>Deliver related services associated with the bidding process, including preparing addenda/amendments and tabulating/reviewing of bids </li>\n <li>Perform construction phase services, including field visits, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings </li>\n <li>Assist with mentoring of the professional development of junior Transportation staff </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills/Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and willingness to serve in a variety of roles within a design team</li>\n <li>Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li><p>MicroStation, Open Roads experience or Open Roads Designer is strongly preferred.
