Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>The<strong> Operations Business Development Manager</strong> will lead the growth of our operations in the geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and environmental consulting sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the technical aspects of these industries while having a proven track record of identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and enhancing operational efficiency.</p><p><strong>The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. &nbsp;</strong>In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Business Development</strong>:<ul><li>Lead and drive business development strategies to acquire new clients and projects in the geotechnical, construction materials testing, and environmental consulting sectors.</li><li>Identify, build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.</li><li>Identify and pursue strategic opportunities, including new market expansion and service offerings.</li><li>Collaborate with operations leadership to develop and execute growth initiatives.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Project Management, Coordination, &amp; Operations Support</strong>:<ul><li>Coordinate between clients, project managers, and field teams to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes while expanding/maintaining business relationships.</li><li>Provide support in technical project assessments, proposals, and bids for the purposes of obtaining new opportunities.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Market Analysis &amp; Strategy</strong>:<ul><li>Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and market demands.</li><li>Stay up to date with regulatory changes and emerging technologies within the geotechnical and environmental industries.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Team Leadership &amp; Development</strong>:<ul><li>Mentor and support team members to enhance their technical expertise and business acumen.</li><li>Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and effective communication (external and internal to the operation).</li></ul></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What it takes to be successful in this role:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, operations management, or a similar role within the geotechnical, construction materials testing, general contracting, or environmental consulting industries.&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated experience interfacing within the Seattle Engineering community market is a plus.</li><li>Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.</li><li>Proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams and delivering results.</li><li>Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and/or pursuits simultaneously.</li><li>Knowledge of environmental regulations, geotechnical design principles, and/or construction materials testing practices is highly preferred.</li><li>Ability to travel as required to client sites and project locations.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
