We serve children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children experiencing mental health challenges, children who cannot remain at home and require foster care placement and children who are Unaccompanied Refugee Minors who come to the United States from around the world and whose lives have been torn apart due to conflict and oppression.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Employees working at Toomey Residential and Community Services can enjoy these benefits:</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Remitted Tuition</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Professional Development</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Competitive Insurance Benefits</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Paid Trainings </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Recognition and Appreciation Programs</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Opportunities for Growth and Promotion</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<strong>Responsibilities</strong>Toomey is seeking a property maintenance assistant to help maintain Toomey Residential and Community Services properties. \n<strong>Responsibilities include: </strong>\n<li>Integrity to work unsupervised in the field. </li>\n<li>Provide routine inspections and preventative maintenance.</li>\n<li>Make general repairs to include sheetrock/plaster repair and quality painting, and ability to troubleshoot.</li>\n<li>Assist with landscaping and groundskeeping.</li>\n<li>Drive a variety of vehicles to/from shop/properties.   </li>\n<li>Ensure property cleanliness and sanitation. </li>\n<li>Monitor and maintain safety and security measures. </li>\n<li>Document maintenance activities and report maintenance concerns.</li>\n<li>Coordinate with contractors and vendors.</li>\n<li>Ensure all maintenance work meets health, safety and regulatory standards.</li>\n<li>Be reliable and available for afterhours calls.     </li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<strong>Qualifications</strong>Must be 21 years old, have a valid NYS driver's license with 4 points or less, and a reliable vehicle for work use with applicable insurance coverage. High School Diploma or GED required.  Up to three years of relevant experience required as well as specialized training, coursework, or skill acquisition related to the position. Position also requires own set of tools (specialty tools provided by agency), creative problem solving, ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to operate power tools, mobility sufficient to drive to and perform maintenance on properties.  Oral and written communication skills and computer literacy is a must. Will be required to successfully complete the OPWDD fingerprinting clearance.\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Toomey Residential and Community Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</strong></p>",
