Summary of Corporate Communications Specialist role: DGV has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Communications Specialist to play a key role in shaping and delivering authentic and inspiring internal and external communications that support organizational priorities and strategic programs. Working collaboratively across departments, the successful candidate will create and manage engaging content across multiple channels, such as newsletters, press releases, and email communications, while supporting community relations initiatives and strengthening connections with diverse stakeholders. Through thoughtful coordination of communications and ongoing evaluation of performance, this role brings forward fresh ideas to enhance communication efforts, offering the opportunity to engage at events and make a meaningful, measurable impact across the organization. This is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work in-office at least three times per week, requiring the successful candidate to be located in the Greater Victoria region. It is a full-time 18-month contract position, 35 hours per week. The salary is between $55,000-$60,000. What you need to bring: Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Management, Community Relations, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in public relations/corporate communications, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading with a strong attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience writing, formatting and creating content for e-newsletters or similar publications. Positive, solutions-focused attitude with a collaborative approach to teamwork. Adaptable and flexible, open to new ideas and challenges Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
