(IAI) has an open full-time position for a Research Scientist. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is interested in advancing state-of-the-art robotics technologies. At IAI, you will be working with multi-disciplinary teams of research scientists, engineers, and project managers to develop custom solutions to various challenging problems in the fields of Robotics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.<br></p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT IAI:</strong><br>Intelligent Automation, Inc. For more information on IAI, please visit www.i-a-i.com.<br><br><strong>CITIZENSHIP / IMMIGRATION STATUS:</strong><br>We can only accept applicants that are either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents (Green Card).<br><br><strong>JOB DUTIES: </strong><br>• Develop innovative solutions for challenging robotic control problems that the REMS group is working on<br>• Support ongoing research projects by collaboratively conducting trade studies, designing and implementing functional systems, testing and demonstrating the capabilities, and writing reports<br>• Support capturing of next robotics funding opportunities by collaboratively producing and submitting proposals that are unique and very innovative<br><br><strong>REQUIRED EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:</strong><br>• Ph.D. or M.S. in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering (Dynamics and Control), Computer Science (or a related field)<br>• Minimum 3 years of experience working on robotic control problems in a research laboratory environment<br>• Programming experience using a physics engine such as ODE, Bullet, etc.<br>• Programming experience using ROS and/or a similar robotic control framework<br><br><strong>REQUIRED SKILLS:</strong><br>• Solid understanding of kinematics and dynamics, probabilistic robotics and object-oriented programming<br>• Ability to implement prototype software algorithms based on conference/journal publications<br>• Proficient technical writing and strong communication skills<br><br><strong>DESIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:</strong><br>• Solid understanding of machine learning including deep learning and reinforcement learning<br>• Solid understanding of classical artificial intelligence and behavior-based robotics<br>• Experience with a robotics simulation framework such as Gazebo, Unity, and AirSim<br>• Publication of peer-reviewed technical papers<br><br>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
