Diesel Mechanics apply their knowledge of maintenance and repairs, and dedicate their skills to improving Fleet Performance, ensuring smooth operations for our staff and customers.</p><p>CITY SIGHTSEEING IS IN THE <em><strong>E N T E R T A I N M E N T</strong></em> BUSINESS &amp; FLEET PERFORMANCE DRIVES COMPANY PERFORMANCE!</p><p>The iconic Red double-decker open-top bus is THE MOST unique and visible aspect of City Sightseeing New Orleans (CSS) market presence and tour experience. Fleet Performance is key to Company Performance, so a team of smart and dedicated mechanics maintain the buses in top shape from our downtown Depot while meeting local/Federal regulations.</p><p>Fleet includes Gillig Buses or Ayat buses with Detroit DT530E, Cummins ISC, or International Engines &amp; Allison Transmissions.</p><h3>Requirements</h3><p>Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong> Mechanic must have have a drivers' license (to operate the service truck) and 5 years experience working in maintenance of diesel engines (preferably buses) and be able to perform each essential duty as listed below:</p><p><strong>Safety and Security</strong></p><ul><li>Follow and abide company's Safety Management System at all times.</li><li>Monitor depot activities to identify and correct any safety hazards.</li></ul><p><strong>Fleet Maintenance &amp; Repair</strong></p><ul><li>Perform daily vehicle inspections as per company Preventative Maintenance System.</li><li>Perform scheduled vehicles inspections as per company Preventative Maintenance System.</li><li>Conduct mechanical, electrical and audio vehicle repairs; including road assistance.</li><li>Assess issues or concerns and communicate repair plan to Operational Manager</li><li>Repair or Replace parts such as tires, batteries, mirrors, and any other part.</li><li>Reference Diagnostics and/or Vehicle manuals as needed.</li><li>Clear OBDVIRs upon repairing issues reported by Bus Operators.</li><li>Follow Operations Manager daily work plan.</li></ul><p><strong>Depot Activities</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain organized and clean work area.</li><li>Secure company's vehicle, equipment and tools during and after every usage.</li><li>Properly utilize company tools and equipment and lifts to complete repairs.</li><li>Control access to work area to prevent unauthorized entry.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills and Knowledge</strong></p><ul><li>Vocational/Technical or certification on diesel mechanics.</li><li>Experience in diesel mechanics. Experience as auto electrician and electronics is a plus.</li><li>Read, interpret and apply technical manuals, schematics, diagrams and parts catalog.</li><li>Experience on parts identification from manuals, requisition, tracking and stocking.</li><li>Experience in using materials and equipment in the repair/maintenance of buses and other vehicles.</li><li>Experience in using and interpreting On-Board Diagnostics.</li><li>Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.</li><li>Valid drivers license required.
