Plans and calculates nutrition support for therapeutic diets based on patients’ health care needs. Instructs patients and their families on nutrition. Apply now and be a part of something extraordinary at Johns Hopkins Intrastaff!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Practices as an expert in the application of the nutrition care process (NCP) and theory </li>\n <li>Utilizes the NCP to provide person-/population-centered nutrition care to patients while considering other factors affecting nutrition and health status such as culture, ethnicity, gender, health literacy and social determinants of health.</li>\n <li>Performs nutrition assessments and implements nutrition plans of care based on evidence-based practice and patient's goals of care. </li>\n <li> Documents in the medical record using the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standardized language. </li>\n <li>Establishes credibility as the food and nutrition expert within the interprofessional team and organization. Maintains a climate of mutual respect, dignity, ethical integrity, and trust. </li>\n <li>Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote patient/client wellness, health maintenance, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness. Communicates the plan of care with the appropriate multidisciplinary team member(s). </li>\n <li>Provides nutrition-related education in a manner tailored to the learner’s age, language, and ability to understand. Documents the education plan and the learner’s understanding in the EMR. Provides language interpretation and translation service as necessary. </li>\n <li> Precepts and coordinates learning experiences for trainees in the JHHS dietetic education programs and fulfills program-related expectations, including but not limited to annual curriculum reviews/updates, grading assignments, and conducting rotation evaluations. </li>\n <li> Supports the needs of the department/hospital/facility to facilitate essential operations as needed or directed by leadership. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates self-management by maximizing use of worktime and fulfilling job responsibilities, including but not limited to meeting of competencies, maintenance of credentials, participating in huddle, attending meetings, etc. </li>\n <li> Reviews and adheres to all policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols. </li>\n <li>Participates in creating an environment of open communication, trust, transparency, and growth. </li>\n <li> Uses available resources to present, publish, and share nutrition information with various audiences, which may include presentations, publications, media, and social media.</li>\n <li> Participates in JHM-sponsored community and/or professional outreach opportunities.</li>\n <li>Complete other mission-related departmental responsibilities.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Bachelors Degree from a accredited college.</p>\n<p>Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Comission on Dietetic Registration </p>\n<p>Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN) in Maryland </p>\n<p>CPR Certified</p>\n<p>One year of Hospital experience and Three years of relevant Peds experience required </p>\n<p>ICU and Nutrition Support preferred</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Johns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
