    "description": "<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Survey Tech</span> plays a key role in supporting field measurement, data collection, and mapping activities that ensure accuracy and efficiency across project sites. This role combines hands-on fieldwork with technical proficiency, requiring the ability to maintain survey equipment, record precise measurements, assist with report and drawing preparation, and learn advanced surveying tools, software, and UAV systems. Operating across Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Oregon, and beyond, our companies are united by four core values — Value Safety, Embrace Ownership, Be Honorable, and Elevate Team — which guide how we work, how we treat each other, and how we deliver quality results on some of the most challenging projects in the region.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Roles and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><em>Including but not limited to the list below.</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain survey equipment through regular cleaning and calibration.</li>\n<li>Record data including field as-built measurements, layout points, and topographic points.</li>\n<li>Assist in the preparation of reports, maps, and drawings using AutoDesk, TBC, Carlson, and Microsoft products.</li>\n<li>Assist and coordinate with Survey Tech II and Tech III staff on departmental work assignments.</li>\n<li>Promote a culture of safety and awareness by practicing and enforcing safe work procedures.</li>\n<li>Learn and apply survey field measurement and layout techniques.</li>\n<li>Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills and Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School Diploma or GED required. Any vocational training is strongly desired.</li>\n<li>Those with an education and/or work-related credential from a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given preferred interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.).</li>\n<li>Capable of obtaining a 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.</li>\n<li>Capable of obtaining MSHA 24-Hour New Miner Training certification.</li>\n<li>Capable of learning to operate Whitaker sUAS systems and software including Wingtra II, DJI M300, DJI Mavic 3E, Pix4D Mapper, Pix4D Matic, and Pix4D Survey.</li>\n<li>Ability to learn and become proficient with survey and grade control software including Siteworks, Trimble Access, GCS900, Earthworks, X-Pad, and SCS900.</li>\n<li>Ability to learn and operate GNSS receivers including Trimble models SPS855, SPS986, R70, and repeaters.</li>\n<li>Ability to learn and operate Trimble SPS930 and SX12 Total Station/Scanners.</li>\n<li>Ability to learn image processing software for generating accurate orthorectified imagery and surface models using Pix4Dmatic, Pix4DMapper, and Global Mapper.</li>\n<li>Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li>\n<li>Ability to become familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.</li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.</li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from work.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.</li>\n<li>Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.</li>\n<li>Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.</li>\n<li>Able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.</li>\n<li>Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors and the operation of equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Whitaker Construction offers an exceptional benefits package including:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
