Position Mission The Global Commodity Manager, Indirect is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive commodity strategies for non‑production goods and services, including IT, facilities, MRO, and professional services. This role drives cost savings, mitigates risk, and enhances supplier performance. The manager oversees vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, and aligns purchasing activities with corporate objectives to reduce total cost of ownership. Reporting to the Director of Indirect Procurement, this position ensures a competitive, resilient, and high‑performing supply base that supports overall business goals. Objectives Develop and execute commodity strategies for indirect spend categories. Build strong supplier relationships, monitor performance, and proactively manage risk. Lead commercial negotiations, supplier selection, and contract development; ensure successful implementation and adherence to performance expectations. Create and maintain a competitive supply environment through alternate sourcing, low-cost strategies, and proactive market intelligence. Drive year-over-year productivity through cost-saving initiatives, continuous improvement, and strategic supplier partnerships. Collaborate cross-functionally to align purchasing activities with business requirements and operational priorities. Lead supplier relationship management for key suppliers, including performance reviews, capacity assessments, risk mitigation, and executive-level KPI and cost-reduction reporting. Conduct ongoing spend and market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and anticipate industry trends, M&A activity, and supply chain risks. Provide analytical rigor and executive-ready reporting to support sourcing decisions and financial performance. Provide functional leadership by prioritizing work, guiding sourcing initiatives, and ensuring alignment to commodity strategy (without direct people-management responsibility). Critical Success Factors Establishes aligned sourcing strategies with measurable results across cost, quality, delivery, and risk. Demonstrates strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract management expertise. Leverages data and analytics to challenge inefficiencies and drive value creation. Balances short-term execution with long-term strategic planning. Operates with high integrity, business acumen, and executive presence. Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred). 5+ years of sourcing/procurement experience, including commodity management and mid-level leadership exposure. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing strategic supplier relationships. CPM or CPIM certification preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong analytical, financial, and quantitative capabilities. Proven negotiation and project management skills. Effective cross-functional collaborator and communicator, including executive presentation skills. Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
