This tenure-track position encompasses teaching, scholarship, service, and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will contribute to the department's mission of preparing competent, compassionate, and knowledgeable physician assistants while complying with ARC-PA accreditation standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Teaching</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Teach courses in the didactic phase of the program, including developing and delivering lectures, leading small group sessions, and facilitating active learning activities.</li>\n <li>Develop and update course syllabi, learning objectives, and assessment tools in alignment with program goals, ARC-PA standards, and current evidence-based medicine.</li>\n <li>Mentor students on their capstone project.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Curriculum Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist in designing and revising didactic and clinical curricula syllabi, learning objectives, and evaluation criteria to ensure alignment with program learning outcomes and accreditation standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Student Remediation and Advising</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Monitor students' academic and clinical performance and implement remediation plans for those needing additional support.</li>\n <li>Serve as a mentor for students navigating academic, clinical, and professional challenges.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Program Evaluation and Accreditation</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with the Program Director, faculty, and staff on collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data for continuous quality improvement and compliance with ARC-PA standards.</li>\n <li>Participate in evaluations of institutional support, curriculum, resources, operational policies, and clinical site performance.</li>\n <li>Identify program strengths and weaknesses and collaborate on actionable improvement plans.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Scholarship</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Engage in scholarly activity, including research, publications, or presentations relevant to medical education or clinical practice.</li>\n <li>Participate in collaborative research projects and foster student involvement in scholarly endeavors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Service</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Actively contribute to departmental, college, and university events and committees.</li>\n <li>Participate in the program’s admissions process, including reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, and contributing to final admissions decisions.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PA Candidates:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.</li>\n <li>Current NCCPA certification and NYS licensure (or eligible) in the State of New York.</li>\n <li>At least three years of clinical experience as a practicing PA.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physician Candidates</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>MD or DO from an accredited program</li>\n <li>Licensure in the State of New York (or eligible)</li>\n <li>Active ABMS or AOA specialty board certification</li>\n <li>At least three years of full-time clinical experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous teaching experience in a PA program or other health professions education.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with ARC-PA accreditation processes and standards.</li>\n <li>Experience in curriculum design, student remediation, and program evaluation (remediation experience a significant plus)</li>\n <li>Serving as a clinical preceptor may be considered in place of previous teaching experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Other Information</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>New York Institute of Technology offers numerous opportunities to enhance personal and professional growth and provides employees with a competitive compensation and benefits program inclusive of  generous paid time off, holidays, tuition remission, and retirement plans with employer contributions.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>New York Institute of Technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer – </em><em>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In compliance with local legislation as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, the annual base salary range for this position is listed.
