Our Inclusion, Diversity, Engagement, Access and Leadership (IDEAL) commitment is rooted in these values, which lead to a culture where employees are engaged and feel good about coming to work every day.</p>\n<h2></h2>\n<p><strong>Summary</strong></p>\n<p>The Quality Assurance Manager position is responsible for providing support to the GBX facility to ensure that products and workmanship meet Greenbrier, customer, and applicable regulatory requirements. The role involves actively leading QA initiatives, including conducting training, assisting in internal and external audits, collaborating with cross functional teams to standardize Quality processes, and assisting in the development, tracking and implementation of corrective actions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p><em>To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Leads improvement initiatives and Quality Team Communications.</li>\n <li>Ensures implementation, oversight, and management of the Quality Assurance Program on a site level basis</li>\n <li>Leads customer visits & audits</li>\n <li>Manages internal/external AAR audits</li>\n <li>Evaluates quality workload demands to determine adequate resource allocation to support facility Quality Assurance</li>\n <li>Ensures process nonconformance’s are reported, entered into the nonconformance application and analyzed</li>\n <li>Leads and participates in continuous improvement opportunities resulting from RCA data analysis</li>\n <li>Supervises and coordinates activities for Inspections</li>\n <li>Ensures adherence to Greenbrier safety policies and procedures</li>\n <li>Contributes to the overall performance from the standpoints of safety, quality, profitability</li>\n <li>Manages in process inspection and final inspection audits to ensure compliance with quality program</li>\n <li>Facilitates root cause and corrective action processes with cross-functional operations team</li>\n <li>Ensure all required customer, AAR regulatory and Greenbrier standards, specifications and instruction are maintained</li>\n <li>Evaluates and coordinates with the Plant Manager and Functional Leaders the operational and quality training needs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<p><em>The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to help others learn and develop</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and sensitive information</li>\n <li>Ability to organize and prioritize projects and information with accuracy, under tight timeframes, to meet organizational needs</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate and collaborate professionally, both verbally and in writing, at all levels</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent, or five years experience in quality assurance, including two years in a Quality Manager role.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SmartSheet</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and The Association of American Railroads (AAR) regulations</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment and Physical Requirements</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<p><em>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
