This role leads field crews, ensures adherence to safety protocols, manages daily work activities and schedules, and maintains effective communication with project managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required. OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certifications are preferred, training may be provided. THIS IS A WORKING FOREMAN POSITION. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><em><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold\">Our search is currently limited to qualified candidates living within the Hampton Roads commuting area.</span></em></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of utility installation and maintenance crews.</li>\n<li>Work alongside crews, ensuring work is performed as required, safely, and to quality standards.</li>\n<li>In coordination with management, plan and schedule daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.</li>\n<li>Interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications to guide construction activities.</li>\n<li>Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.</li>\n<li>Ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.</li>\n<li>Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors to resolve issues or conflicts that arise on site.</li>\n<li>Enforce safety regulations and promote a strong culture of safety among all crew members.</li>\n<li>Oversee equipment usage and basic maintenance to ensure proper utilization and minimize downtime.</li>\n<li>Train and mentor crew members on safety procedures, construction techniques, and equipment operation.</li>\n<li>Manage inventory and coordinate procurement of materials required for construction activities.</li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and other stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.</li>\n<li>Coordinate required inspections with local and project-specific authorities.</li>\n<li>Maintain a daily written log of jobsite activities, progress, and issues.</li>\n<li>Ensure the jobsite is kept clean, organized, and secure at all times.</li>\n<li>Identify, track, and complete punch list items to support project closeout.</li>\n<li>Attend required on-site project meetings.</li>\n<li>Open the jobsite at the beginning of the day and secure the jobsite at the end of the day.</li>\n<li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.</li>\n<li>Must be able to work in hot or cold environments.</li>\n<li>Maintain professional interactions with all customers and stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Must reside within commuting distance of the main office in Virginia Beach, VA.</li>\n<li>This is an in-person, on-site position.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">NEED TO BE ABLE TO OBTAIN BASE ACCESS FOR ONGOING PROJECTS!</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold\">EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in construction management is preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Minimum of 5 years of verifiable utility construction industry experience, in a supervisory role.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Extensive experience and knowledge of construction means and methods and a thorough understanding of the utility industry trades, installation, maintenance, and practices – specifically underground utilities such as water, sewage, and drainage systems.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Experienced in and capable of operating heavy equipment associated with the construction/excavation industry.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Knowledge of positioning, joining, and aligning lines at proper depths, angles, and grades.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Ability to use transit lasers, pipe lasers, hand tools, and read grade stakes, and place offsets if need be.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Knowledge of Construction Safety Regulations and Best Practices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction specifications, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project &amp; Outlook) is preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, subcontractors, or employees of the organization.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
