    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>This Opportunity</strong></p>\n<p>WSP is initiating a search for an <strong>Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Lead</strong>&nbsp;for our&nbsp;<strong>Illinois</strong> practice.&nbsp;The position will be based out of our Chicago office.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>We are looking for someone that is an excellent communicator, is highly strategic, can influence and inspire others, and brings a deep understanding of the Illinois ITS industry, clients and competition. Transform.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>With us, you can!</p>\n<p><strong>Your Impact</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as project manager, deputy project manager, or technical task lead for ITS projects.</li>\n <li>Grow our Illinois ITS team.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with Local Business Leaders, and the National Business Line to drive business growth in the Illinois market, focusing on ITS and V2X.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Perform a range of marketing and business development activities within the region, including gathering client intelligence, leading pursuits and proposal development, presentations, manpower and fee estimates.</li>\n <li>Represent the firm in the market through involvement in client and industry events and associations to promote WSP’s capabilities, gather market intelligence gathering and develop a pipeline of opportunities.</li>\n <li>Develop promotional and proposal material.</li>\n <li>Interface with staff from a range of other disciplines to support a diverse range of projects across business lines.</li>\n <li>Provide leadership and ensure standards are adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.</li>\n <li>Anticipate medium and long-term client needs, industry dynamics, and changing market conditions, develop strategic and action plans to address changing market conditions.</li>\n <li>Communicate ideas clearly with remote teams</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p>\n<p><u>Required Qualifications</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering or other related field</li>\n <li>Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation and infrastructure projects&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Minimum 5 years leading, managing and mentoring teams of ITS engineers and technicians&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Proven success in a leadership role</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and team building skills</li>\n <li>Experience as a Project Manager leading complex ITS projects</li>\n <li>Strong technical skills relevant to the ITS system engineering process</li>\n <li>Demonstrated deep relationships with State DOTs and local governments, contractors, transportation agencies and professional organizations&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable.</li>\n <li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Preference given to local candidates&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Professional Engineer (P.E.) license&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Technical experience in the design and implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)</li>\n <li>Recognized industry leader holding prominent role in professional societies such as ITS Midwest, AASHTO, ITE, ACEC, WTS, COMTO</li>\n</ul>\n<p>WSP Benefits:</p>\n<p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
