Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000 Job Summary The Staff Accountant is a key contributor in a fast‑paced, growing organization. This role is responsible for completing daily accounting tasks requiring a basic level of accounting knowledge across a variety of responsibilities. This role will work closely with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, providing hands-on support to ensure timely and accurate billing, collections, vendor payments, and reconciliations. The Staff Accountant is responsible for (but not limited to) monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, g/l variance analysis, and development of weekly and monthly financial reports. This role is hands‑on and well‑suited for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a small to mid‑sized business environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Execute accurate and timely reporting during the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Assist with budget preparation and monthly departmental reporting. Reconcile daily cash activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances promptly. Process and research into customer rebates and deductions, escalate when necessary. Support external audits and provide requested schedules and documentation. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies in a growing environment. Perform special projects and other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid‑sized company Experience in wholesale, retail, distribution, or inventory‑driven environments strongly preferred Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting Experience with month‑end close and account reconciliations ERP system experience required (NetSuite or similar preferred) Intermediate Excel skills required (pivot tables, lookups) Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus, but not required Key Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lean team environment Clear written and verbal communication skills Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement Work Environment: Standard office environment with prolonged periods of computer use Minimal physical demands Occasional extended hours during month‑end or year‑end close Training Requirements: None Physical Demands: None Physical Protective Equipment: None Work Environment: Usual office working conditions This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
